"Marianne called within minutes to schedule an estimate appointment. Mike Lewis came out and looked at our job and the quote arrived that night. We booked an appointment and Mike and Dandre came this morning and both did an amazing job making sure each light were at the height I wanted and that the new ceiling fan was installed correctly. They assembled everything for us. Truly a great team and I would definitely recommend and use this company again. Thank you!!"

"Jung has worked for me in Summerlin for 6 years! His skill and expertise are unmatched. Over the years he has repaired or updated most everything in my home: electrical outlets, ceiling fans, light fixtures, bathroom faucets, shower doors, kitchen sink installation, patio doors, indoor & outdoor furniture assembly, privacy lattice installation, retractable sun screen. He was even able to run water from outside so I could have a hose in my garage! Jung is honest and dependable...and always "figures out the best way to do it." I am grateful I found him."

" After his repair to the crack in the ceiling anyone would find it difficult to identify the repair's location.  The painting of interior rooms and molding looked terrific when he finished.  The molding painting and caulking were very time intensive but he persevered and it once again looked great when he finished.  His crew were excellent as well and needed little supervision but went directly to work.   Miguel is honest, professional and takes pride in a job well done.  We would not hesitate to recommend or hire him again. A job well done! "

"The house was built with an open-air deck above one half of the garage, and the garage completely sheet rocked, textured, and painted.  A water leak developed in the deck a while ago and damaged the ceiling below.  The deck was resealed and tested, and we finally got around to having the garage ceiling repaired.  I had Tim of Tim's Handyman Services come out, look it over and give me an estimate.  I was favorably impressed and we scheduled the work.  Tim and an assistant arrived on the scheduled day and began removing the damaged sheet rock.  At this point  it was found that the ceiling was insulated with fiberglass batts which were somewhat moldy.  The old batts were removed, the area cleaned with bleach, and, after a trip to the store, replaced.  New sheet rock was then installed,  taped and sanded, then sprayed with popcorn texturing to match the rest of the ceiling.  The entire job was done in two days and looked great.  The estimated price was adjusted to cover the new insulation and was very reasonable.  I was extremely satisfied with all aspects of the job.  Before he left, I had Tim look at a concrete patio I wanted tiled, and he is doing that job even as I write this review.

"This was the first time I have used Sunshine Cleaning Co. and they did a fantastic job. They even did some things I didn't request, such as cleaning ceiling fan, cleaning two glass patio tables, sweeping front porch, etc. I will definitely use them again in the future and recommend this company to my friends. Jim"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Since the cost of installing a ceiling fan is $250 for most homeowners, it might be beneficial to replace your existing fan if you are experiencing a significant repair issue, like a broken motor. However, for less expensive repairs, like a fan blade replacement, you’ll likely spend less on the repair than a complete fan replacement. Of course, if you’re looking for an upgrade or a new style fan, replacing it altogether is always an option.

For a 12x12 room, a fan between 36" and 50" will work, as it falls in the range for spaces up to 144 square feet. These size fans provide adequate air circulation and ensure a comfortable environment without being overpowering. Even better, they come in a broad range of styles, offering aesthetics and functionality, making them suitable choices for maintaining an ideal room temperature and enhancing overall comfort.

The square footage of your room will dictate the correct ceiling fan blade size. For example:

  • Rooms smaller than 75 square feet require a fan that is 29 to 36 inches.

  • Rooms up to 175 square feet require 42- to 48-inch fans.

  • Rooms up to 350 square feet require 52- to 56-inch fans.

  • Expansive spaces over 350 square feet need a fan larger than 60 inches.

To determine if your ceiling box can support a fan, you must check if it is specifically fan-rated. Manufacturers are required to indicate this on the box itself. You may need to remove the existing light fixture to look inside the ceiling box for an inscription stating it is rated for fan use. If you do not see this confirmation, the box is likely not strong enough and must be replaced with a fan-rated junction box. For a proper and safe installation, you should also use a fan brace to secure the new box between the ceiling joists, which provides the necessary support for the fan's weight and motion.

To convert a ceiling fan to wireless, you’ll need to install a canopy module to access the lighting and fan controls. Many options are available, all of which help you control specific elements of your ceiling fan, so you have plenty of choices depending on your needs.
