"They arrived on time and made a walk-through of the house to determine locations and the number of all air vents. They explained thoroughly the steps they would take and the cost. As they did the work, they were very careful of the furnishings and were very good about cleaning up afterwards. The house has two heating/cooling zones, but don't take too much time to finish that part of the job. Tom then crawled under the deck to access/clean the dryer vent. They completed the entire job verry fast. I am very pleased with their work and with the result."

"I was having a heat wave in Las Vegas and my AC unit was not working. I called Fast Response Services and they came out the same day to fix it. "Robert Abrego (owner) and his crew from Home Improvements Enterprise were wonderful. The company is from Las Vegas, NV. and our home is Pahrump, NV. From purchase to installation was a total of 15 days. Roberts crew on the installment were very efficient and professionial , after completion they took all the old windows for disposal. I will be utilizing Robert's company again in 2020 for the remaining 3 windows as their are the most affordable with great results. Pahrump NV"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

When faced with HVAC issues, it's best to begin by ensuring the thermostat settings are correct for either heating or cooling. If the system isn't responding, check the thermostat for proper function and power supply. It's also important to examine air filters, as clogged ones can decrease performance. Confirm the power supply to the system by checking the circuit breakers and fuses. If these basic steps fail to resolve the issue, contact an HVAC professional for a more detailed diagnosis and repair.

The standard rule for return duct sizing is that the return vent should be the same size or larger than the supply vent. This will ensure balanced airflow in your home and reduce strain on your HVAC system.

To reduce AC startup power for a whole-house generator, install a soft start kit or hard start capacitor, which lowers the initial surge by gradually ramping up the compressor. Using a smart load manager can also help by staggering startup loads, preventing a system overload and future costly repairs.

HVAC pros recommend that you replace your AC filter every one to three months to maintain optimal indoor air quality and ensure your HVAC system operates efficiently. However, factors such as filter type, household size, and environmental conditions may influence the frequency of replacement. Regular filter changes help prevent debris buildup, maintain airflow, and prolong the life span of your air conditioning unit.

No. Your furnace does not run your air conditioner. Both units use the same system of ductwork to move conditioned air throughout your home, but you can have a furnace without having an air conditioner and vice versa. Furnaces are only for heating your home. You can buy a system that does both, however, like a split system or a heat pump (yes, heat pumps cool, too).
