"Brothers kept me informed about everything. The guys showed up on time, started work immediately. Both of them were very polite as well as informative. It took about 3 hours. The job was left clean, couldn’t tell they had been there except for the beautiful windows. I will recommend them to my friends. I would also hire them Nv again if I need to."

Small jobs welcome

"Leo is great! Very personable, excellent appearance and did a great job on my filthy windows. He washed all my windows inside and out, washed all of the screens and cleaned the tracks. I have already booked an appointment with him for fall."

"I have Addison perform repairs on my house in South Lake Tahoe several times. I am repeat customer because of the high quality and very reasonable price. Once I have him over to do a small job and after that I knew that I will be inviting him for much bigger projects. He can do pretty much everything from plumbing to sheetrock replacement to nice paint jobs. I highly recommend his services."

Windows questions, answered by experts

If you live in a colder region, consider installing double- or triple-pane windows with low-E coatings, which can trap heat and keep your house warm. In hot areas, windows with reflective coatings and insulated frames help keep cooling costs down. If you experience a lot of extreme weather, then impact-resistant glass might be a worthwhile investment.

Upgrade to double-glazed glass or apply energy-efficient coatings to reduce heat loss and utility costs.

Energy-efficient windows are judged on their performance according to a few different factors, including heat transfer, air leakage, light transference, and condensation resistance. If you're unsure whether a window is energy-efficient, look for an ENERGY STAR® label from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). If various products, including windows, meet energy-efficiency standards set by the federal government, the EPA issues this label to help consumers identify energy-efficient products.

The best thing to clean windows with is a mixture of white vinegar, warm water, and dish soap. This will remove dirt, pollen, and grime without destroying any tints or protective films on your glass. You can also use a commercial window cleaner, but make sure to choose one that doesn’t have ammonia in it, as this can damage window coverings and frame materials over time.

Because egress windows are meant for emergency exiting and entering, they need to be an accessible size. The smallest an egress window is allowed to be is 15 inches in width and height, with an opening of around 4 square feet.
