"We needed a centrally monitored burglar and fire alarm system to satisfy our insurance company. After getting a couple of bids, I called Protect Your Home, the biggest ADT provider. The price was better than the other bids out there. Everything looks great after setup."

"Service provider was punctual, neat, efficient, knowledgeable, and polite. He answered all my questions and left my home spotless. He helped me figure out the ideal placement for the alarm panel, explained camera placement, and advised me on entry delays. He had me download the app to ensure it was working properly. I would recommend them to my mother.

"What we liked about this system is that it arrived very quickly after we purchased it.  It was very easy and self explanatory to set up.  Frontpoint's customer service is way above par; their reps are super helpful and friendly.  This alarm system is great for military families because you can move it with you.  Their response time is incredible.  Our smoke alarm went off and they quickly took action.  I was alerted within 30 seconds, and the fire department was at my home in less than five minutes.  Everything turned out to be fine, our alarm had just fallen off the wall, but it made me feel very secure in my new home.

"Had a family member with years of drug and alcohol abuse that was behaving erratically and causing fear and anxiety both within and against the family. We needed to know what was going on and with whom and Acuity Investigation helped us greatly. We needed immediate assistance and Dwayne and company were on it within the day. And all of this on a holiday weekend!! The family had the piece of mind that this person's whereabouts could be known and his behavior could be monitored. I have to give Dwayne a very special shout out for constant and near immediate communication. I would highly recommend this company for your surveillance needs. We felt like we were in good hands and got the answers we needed to feel like we had some control over a terrible situation."

"This is the second time that I've used the company, and the service was good as usual.  The technician that came out was friendly and personable and did a thorough cleaning.  Considering the scope of the work, I feel as though we paid a good price."

"I was going around getting Alarm quotes for my home. All the other alarm companies wanted between $500.00 to $1,000.00 to protect my home for burglary. I saw a person on YouTube recommending Protect America for their security systems and how cheap and easy they were to use and install. I went to their website they had different packages and Found one that had all the sensors I need to protect my home for burglary. So I went ahead and called them and they got me setup with that package and also got two free key fobs with it as well. They also told me to call my local Police Department to see if I needed an Alarm Permit. That I would be responsible for getting the permit if one is needed. I call them and said they do not need an alarm permit. It arrived by UPS and it was very easy to install and activate. What is nice as well you have the option to add different services like fire carbon monoxide etc. later on. Have not had any issues as of yet.

"Dish has been great. We have been Dish customers since 2007. The variety of channels and options they offer are excellent, with local channels being South Dakota channels instead of Denver channels, which are more pertinent. Their customer service is EXCELLENT. I have never had them fail to fix a problem within a single phone call, and I have called them at many different times, including at 2am. Equipment upgrades are super fast and free, and they have gone as far as to give me 6 months of free service just for me making a phone call. I'm extremely happy with this company.

Fire Sprinkler Companies questions, answered by experts

Yes, a hot or overheating outlet is a fire hazard and can cause a fire. An outlet becoming hot indicates an electrical problem, such as an overloaded circuit, loose connections, or a faulty component. The heat from these issues can ignite nearby flammable materials like curtains or furniture. If you notice an outlet is hot to the touch, turn off the power at the circuit breaker, unplug any connected devices, and consult a qualified electrician. If a fire does start, use a Class C fire extinguisher or baking soda to suppress it, or evacuate immediately and call the fire department.

Grounding is a great first step to prevent electrical shock, but you can take it further with GFCI outlets and AFCIs (arc fault circuit interrupters). In particular, AFCIs help protect against the type of electrical arcs that cause fires, like if a mouse chews on a wire or your laptop starts overheating at the wall. These are required in some areas of your home.

Ensure you have a safe environment for them to work on, and there aren’t items such as logs, build-up of yard materials, missing or damaged shingles, and weak areas on the roof. Communicate any known electrical issues with contractors at the beginning of the project, and consider hiring an electrician to fix those. Finally, if you are attempting the project yourself, do so when there isn’t any rain, and you can safely get your footing on the roof using proper equipment, such as an extension ladder. Don’t attempt this alone, and have a helper nearby to assist.

Pellet stoves are safer than wood stoves in many ways. They don’t produce as many creosote deposits as wood stoves do, they create less smoke, and the flames are contained, decreasing the risk of any sparks or embers creating a house fire. Pellet stoves also burn more cleanly and efficiently than wood stoves do.

Yes, you can close off a fireplace both temporarily and permanently with extremely wide price ranges. Temporary solutions involve fireplace plugs that can be inflated to block air and deflated to open the fireplace, covers, and boards. Permanent methods of shutting off fireplaces usually involve bricking up the fireplace or covering it with drywall. No matter the method, it’s probably best to hire a professional.
