"I had an excellent experience with Jesse and would highly recommend his services. Strong winds caused my exterior security door on the garage side of my home to completely tear off its mounting due to the force of the wind when a family member lost grip of the door. I submitted a request, and Jesse came out the very next day. He was professional, friendly, courteous, and took the time to assess the damage and explain what needed to be done. I hired him for the repair, and he completed the job promptly and professionally. The entire experience, from the initial interaction through completion of the repair, was excellent. Jesse did quality work, was dependable, and made the process easy. I’m very pleased with the results and would definitely use his services again. A+++ experience. Highly recommended!"

"My house had half power for about a month. Two breakers had melted and sparks were coming from the box. Mike came out and changed out the breakers the first night, fixed the box and made it as safe as he could. I got and estimate and set a date for replacement of the breaker box. Mike took care of everything including the asking for expediated service on the permits with PNM, etc. He and his crew came early in the morning and stayed until the box was done and our power was restored. They even brought a generator over so that we wouldn't be in the dark. They were awesome and I will definately call on them again if I need more work done. I highly recommend 7 Star."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

In short, no. You can use the square footage range chart in this article to determine the right size ceiling fan for both indoor and outdoor spaces. However, weather elements can damage types of ceiling fans that aren't designed for outdoor use, so your ceiling fan should be weather-resistant if you plan to install it outside.

The square footage of your room will dictate the correct ceiling fan blade size. For example:

  • Rooms smaller than 75 square feet require a fan that is 29 to 36 inches.

  • Rooms up to 175 square feet require 42- to 48-inch fans.

  • Rooms up to 350 square feet require 52- to 56-inch fans.

  • Expansive spaces over 350 square feet need a fan larger than 60 inches.

Many ceiling fan mounts feature a design that can accommodate slight slopes by using a ball joint mechanism at the end of the downrod. If your ceiling has a steeper slope than your fan allows for, you can install a downrod that will allow your fan to safely hang below the slope.

Keeping dust off fans can keep them working optimally and help keep dust mites or bacteria from building up. Dust fans weekly with a duster, microfiber cloth, old pillowcase, or vacuum attachment. You can also try spraying a clean fan with a store-bought dust-repellent product or making a DIY dust-repellent with water and a small amount of liquid fabric softener mixed in.

Fans not turning on, wobbling, noisy motors, or faulty remote controls are common issues requiring repair.
