"It went very well. David is responsive, knowledgeable and consistent in doing what he says he will get done. A pleasure to work with. Worth every penny. I’ve used 4 other HVAC people and David is the best, by far. Hire with confidence."

"JJ provided a detailed description of work needed to remove and replace my 20 yr old rusted cooler, complete with photos and an itemized list of labor and parts. Gerrod and James arrived within the time parameter, introduced themselves and got to work. They did need to go get a larger unit and within 4 hours my new cooler was up and cooling my house. What I paid was exactly what was estimated. I received photos of every step of the installation."

"Roadrunner was great, arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the problem (old corroded thermopyles) and had the replacement parts with them for our very old wall heaters. Fixed quickly and they've worked great since."

"Converted 2 evaporative coolers to AC. Good job at a good price. Follow up 1 month later- Now water is leaking through the air return vent they installed in the ceiling after probably a tenth of an inch of rain. I called but apparently they don't have anyone on call because all I could do was leave a message. Buyer beware that they don't appear to have appropriate on call coverage if something goes wrong and a minor issue could certainly escalate into a much more expensive and inconvenient repair."

"The crew of three was prompt, and offered good money saving suggestions. The not only cleaned duct work cheaper than any other bids, they jump on a number of tasks while they were at my house for very reasonable prices . Basically hard working young men who got the job done"

"After a frustrating year where multiple plumbers (including that big TV advertiser) had failed to troubleshoot our freezing radiant heating, we were at a loss. Luckily, we tried one more plumber and landed on Alex Ortiz who was able to determine the problem and repair it. The system now works great and gas bill has even gone down. In addition, he spotted a few other items done incorrectly and resolved those. Alex is a skilled plumber, professional and honest."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Most HVAC companies charge a flat service call fee of between $75 and $150, which includes traveling to your home and inspecting your system to find the underlying problem. Keep in mind that these prices only include diagnostics and the actual repairs will usually be billed separately. If you’re calling for routine service, the service call will be included in your inspection and tune-up, with the total sitting around $150. Your prices could be a little higher if you have a very large home with multiple condensers and air handlers, as inspections and servicing take longer.

Running a window air conditioner unit costs about $0.06 to $0.88 per hour. Choosing the correct size air conditioner can help it run more efficiently.

If your AC runs constantly, it could be due to a number of things, including a faulty thermostat, incorrect temperature settings, or broken equipment. Alternatively, you might have an airflow problem (for example, blocked vents or leaky ductwork). Either way, an HVAC pro can identify the specific problem and fix it for you.

The best way to save money on HVAC repairs is by regularly having your system inspected and maintained. This can prevent bigger problems and costly repairs and replacements in the future. It’s also smart to buy quality equipment and hire companies that provide warranties on equipment and labor. If you need repairs, you may be able to save money by cashing in on rebates and incentives or keeping the area around your HVAC unit clear to shorten the time your contractor needs to spend in your home.

Setting your AC unit to 78 degrees can, indeed, help you save energy. In fact, according to experts, every degree you turn the unit up could save you between 1% and 3% on your energy bills. That said, turning your unit off entirely while you’re out might actually be less efficient than keeping it on at a higher temperature. Why? The unit will need to work extra hard to cool the house back off again after all those hot hours.
