"I feel extremely fortunate to have found Vicki through Angie's List !  She is an extremely talented person who is very easy to deal with. She has a breath of knowledge that allows her to accommodate my tastes, but also ensure that the overall design is in sync with the design and location of my home.  She has  a very diplomatic way of suggesting when I'm going astray with my choices and in every case where she has told me "Trust Me"  I have been delighted ! She is very aggressive in helping me find the best pricing and often times will work with the vendors directly  hence saving me the time.  She also has excellent local contacts.  Everyone I've worked with through Vicki has been timely, professional, and highly competent.
My project is far from complete.  I intend to continue to use Vicki and her expert advice until the end !!!!"

Did a good job, providing 2 layouts to choose from.  Completed design and sent email and snail mail paint and furniture samples in a little over a month from starting the process.  The previous estimate was 2-3 weeks so it wasn't so late.  My only disappointment was the design was not for the complete room.  They told me that the missing area was considered an entry way or hallway and could be designed for an additional fee.  I did not want to pay an additional and accepted their explanation, but on second thought, in my opinion, it isn't really separate.  There is a large archway one-third of the way into the room, but I have never considered it as two separate rooms and no one visiting my home has ever mentioned it.  Every room has an entrance.  I wouldn't call the way to get into a room as a separate room. Other than that, I would say a got a great deal overall.

Home Staging questions, answered by experts

Home staging in Las Cruces can significantly boost your home’s resale appeal, especially by highlighting features like xeriscaping, energy-efficient windows, and shaded patios. Buyers in this region often seek homes with low-maintenance landscaping and cooling solutions. Well-staged homes stand out in the competitive NM market, attracting buyers looking for Southwest charm and move-in-ready properties.

Helpful?

In Las Cruces, tailor your seasonal inspection routine to address desert-specific challenges. Each spring, inspect stucco for sun fading and check windows for dust buildup. In summer, evaluate shade structures and test evaporative coolers. After monsoon season, look for roof leaks and water intrusion around entryways. Winter is ideal for checking weather stripping, updating lighting for shorter days, and ensuring insulation is intact for energy efficiency.

Helpful?

In Las Cruces, prioritize home staging projects that address visible damage from dust storms, water stains after monsoons, or faded exterior paint—these can impact first impressions. Projects like updating curb appeal with drought-tolerant landscaping or fixing HVAC issues should be addressed before peak selling seasons. Less urgent tasks, such as swapping out décor or minor landscaping, can wait until market activity slows.

Helpful?

In Las Cruces, make home staging safer by choosing soft, heat-resistant flooring and installing secure gates around patios. Use native, non-toxic plants in xeriscaped areas and create shaded play zones with sail shades or pergolas. Opt for rounded-edge furniture indoors and keep cacti or sharp stones away from walkways. These steps help ensure your home is welcoming and safe for families and pets.

Helpful?

In Las Cruces, if you notice outdated furnishings, clutter, or dim lighting, these are signs that home staging can help. However, if you see cracked stucco, roof leaks after heavy rain, or warped doors from heat, these indicate a need for professional repairs. For sun-faded exteriors, determine if a deep clean or repaint is needed based on the extent of the damage.
