"The crew was professional, punctual, friendly, polite and especially knowledgeable. They arrived with all of the appropriate equipment to perform the jobs at hand. We were replacing two trees with two large trees and the hole preparation was exactly to specifications. The area around the base of the new trees was clean and looked manicured when they were finished. The owner, Santiago, trimmed three large rosemary plants to perfection. My husband and I were so pleased that we are planning more work in the near future. We would highly recommend this company for all your landscaping and maintenance needs. "May's Tree Service was very professional.  I was given a referral to them from a friend, and they made themselves available to do the job in just two days.  They did a great job of cutting the trees down to the ground, so I would not have to worry about the roots later on.  They also hauled away all of the tree clippings.  They were very careful in safety practices to make sure no branches fell on my roof as them cut down.   I would would highly recommend them to anyone else looking for tree services."

"Called Rick at 11:00 am on Saturday February 2, 2013 to get an estimate on removing a mulberry stump from between my sidewalk and curb.  Another individual had removed the tree for me but didn't have the equipment to take care of the stump.
Rick indicated that he would be at my house sometime after 1:00 p.m. and would take the stump out the same day.  He and his crew showed up at 1:45 and had the stump completely clear by 4:00 p.m.  Just to indicate how much work was done the stump was three to four feet tall and about three feet across.  Rick and his crew went to work with chainsaws and stump grinders and made short work of a huge job.  They also swept and raked the mess as they went.  This impressed my picky neighbor so much that he hired Rick on the spot to grind a stump in his yard.
Fast, good service, job well done.

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

It takes anywhere from three to seven years for a stump to decompose on its own. This timeframe can depend on the kind of tree and your climate. The lower to the ground the stump is, the faster it rots. If you kill a tree stump with salt, boiling water, herbicide, light deprivation, or burning, the tree stump decomposes faster.

Trees should be pruned every two to five years, depending on its age and type. Young trees should be inspected and pruned every two to three years. Mature trees should be inspected and trimmed every three to five years, and fruit trees should be pruned annually with a careful eye on seasonal growth. Evergreens typically don’t need pruning, unless branches or limbs are damaged, diseased, or harboring pests.

Peach trees don’t tend to live as long as other types of trees and crops. They tend to last only about 12 years, and you shouldn’t expect to see a full peach harvest each of those years, either. Young peach trees need a few years to get established before they produce fruit, but you should have plenty of peaches for your pies and cobblers during their mature years, around years four through eight.

Some trees will bounce back just fine, and others will struggle and possibly die. Evergreens, for instance, have a very difficult time recovering after droughts and usually die after periods of extreme dryness. Usually, you’ll have to just wait and see—if the drought occurs in wintertime, it’s possible that your tree will recover during the gentler springtime.

Trees naturally want to grow upward, so one may straighten all by itself, though this only comes into play when a tree is leaning just a small amount. For trees growing into an awkward position or those leaning heavily in one direction, the above steps are necessary to ensure the tree gets back on the right path. This also holds true for trees planted in a spot with unstable soil.
