"I called on Tuesday and that afternoon Zach came to my house. He came the very next day to remove my tree. He also was able to trim the tree in the backyard on the same day. He was courteous and respectful and the job is DONE. I would recommend Zach (The Tree Boss) to everyone who has any tree service needing to be done."

Small jobs welcome

"These people did an excellent job of cutting back the trees we hired them to do. They took them from 20 to 25 feet down to 6 feet. They not only did the cutting, they also trimmed them to make them well groomed. They cleaned up all of the mess when done. They left nothing of the trash that was created by the job. I highly recommend this company to anyone and we are definitely going to use them again for our yard needs."

"Josh and his crew did an excellent job removing a big dead tree in my front yard. They chopped the tree down and cleaned up everything down to the last twig. They even left me with wood for the fireplace. I would highly recommend Battle Castle for any landscaping job!!"

"I called Santiago at Roadrunner on Friday, to get an estimate on three mature nonbearing mulberry trees that were in pretty bad shape. I feared two of them would need to be cut down. Santiago came that afternoon and gave us an estimate. The next Tuesday Romero and the crew came over and started the job. It took two days as I was told it might. We liked the job they did on the mulberry's, so my husband asked if they would prune our medium size red bud and a small Apple tree, they did, for very little extra. All of my trees look great, better than I ever thought they could. They also treated the the mulberrys with fungicide. When they left the yard was neat and clean. The Roadrunner crew were polite and respectful. We will use them again."

"I am in the process of renovating a historic housing complex and the grounds were in desperate need of maintenance. I contacted May's Tree Service, who arrived swiftly to address my concerns, answer my questions, assess the work to be done, and give me an estimate. The two men were very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions concerning the future care and maintenance of my trees and shrubbery. They also advised me on ways to help prevent potentially damaging future growth. After meeting them, I believed them  to be the best and obvious choice. During their assessment they thoroughly examined the property grounds to determine the best approach, starting point, and address any possible setbacks before work began. The men were punctual, arriving about 10 minutes prior to scheduled time. After greeting me, the men unloaded equipment and were hard at work. Hearing the loud equipment and seeing  branches quickly fall to the ground made me nervous as to what was to transpire. Not wanting to interfere, I stood back and quietly watched the progress.  It was incredible to see the professional and caring service provided. I was impressed and very pleased by the end result and the time it took. The entire job was completed in less than 1 and 1/2 days. My property was left immaculate and free of any cuttings...even the pine needles (collected over time) were cleared! May's Tree Service exceeded my expectations and then some. Thank you!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

It depends on the type of tree. Typically, late spring on the cusp of winter is ideal for trees about to emerge from dormancy and produce new buds. That said, late fall is ideal for certain deciduous trees prone to bleeding sap. Avoid trimming trees in early spring, when they’re prone to disease.

If it’s your property, then you can plant a tree near power lines, but it’s not the best idea. Any vegetation that grows within 10 feet or so of power lines will fall under the responsibility of the utility company, and they may trim or remove it as necessary. If you do move forward with your plan, try to choose a smaller ornamental tree, plant it as far away from the power lines as you can, and keep it trimmed to avoid future problems.

You can start your search for a reputable arborist online by looking for professionals who hold the proper licensing and are fully insured. Next, read through some online reviews to see what kind of service the expert brings to the table, and confirm that they don’t have a history of complaints with the Better Business Bureau. Finally, you can ask the professional for a list of references and then call them to ask questions about the service, professionalism, value, and more that the expert brings to the table.

In most ways, palm trees are incredibly low-maintenance. They don’t need a ton of water—which is why they’re so beloved in desert regions—and they basically prune themselves. But they do need an ample supply of sunlight and to be in soil that will allow for proper drainage so that their roots don’t become waterlogged and at risk of developing illnesses.

If the plant begins to wilt, develop spots, or change color, these could all be signs that your palm tree has a disease. But a few basic treatments, like pruning and applying fungicide, will usually be more than enough to return it to perfect health.

Peach trees don’t tend to live as long as other types of trees and crops. They tend to last only about 12 years, and you shouldn’t expect to see a full peach harvest each of those years, either. Young peach trees need a few years to get established before they produce fruit, but you should have plenty of peaches for your pies and cobblers during their mature years, around years four through eight.
