The faucets work fine . The price was reasonable. The plumber was professional.

This was an emergency repair. Plumber showed up quickly and repaired the main water line which had broken at the curb meter. Sand had gotten in the pipe because of flooding at the meter box. The plumber was knowledgeable about clearing the sand prior to turning on faucets in the house. He also cleared the kitchen sink faucet, which had still clogged with sand, and that was not part of his job, so I appreciated him taking the time to fix that issue. Price was extremely reasonable.

Lowes sent Al Bailey from 1-CALL plumbing to install a dishwasher we had purchased. He was very thorough with the installation and answered a lot of questions we had. We needed some other plumbing done , so we called 1-CALL for an estimate and they sent Al. We already had the kitchen Fawcett, so he gave us a labor estimate and told us what we needed for the laundry room. When he came back to install the parts, he was again very personable and thorough in his work. To top that off, the bill was actually a little below the estimate. When we need any more plumbing work, we will be calling 1-CALL.

Knowing I would be needing major plumbing work at our home at some future time and not knowing any plumbers in Las Cruces, I arranged to have plumbers from two different companies do relatively minor plumbing jobs around the house in order to find one that I thought would be suitable major plumbing work when that becomes necessary. I plan to review both on Angie?s List, but 1Call Plumbing deserves special attention.
My wife made the call to 1Call Plumbing to install a pressure regulating valve at the entry to our home. The receptionist was very courteous, and made arrangements for someone to come to the house that very afternoon. The technician from 1Call arrived on time, and my wife, who knows very little about plumbing, showed the plumber what to do and dealt with the plumber when he was finally done. The technician who came to the house was very courteous to my wife, and if I had not done my homework in advance, we would never have known there would be a problem.
The technician commenced work, but then had to go to the store to get ?parts?. I already had a good idea how long it would take me to do the job myself as I do this sort of thing fairly frequently, and I knew all of the parts that would be needed to complete the job. I provided the major hardware for the job, leaving a few simple parts, such a coupler and a pipe nipple, for the plumber to provide. What shocked me first was that the technician took much longer to complete the job ( 4 hours) than I knew was necessary (1-2 hours). During his time at the worksite, the technician was discreetly observed to spend considerable time engaging in activity that was not related to the job (texting/surfing/phoning). I was left the impression that he did not have any other jobs that afternoon and was just padding the time to make sure that it filled the entire afternoon. When we got the bill, it included a charge for parts in the amount of $72.16. No parts were itemized. Since I knew the additional parts that were needed to complete the job, I knew this was high. I inspected the job to see what parts 1Call actually provided, and I found that the full retail value of those parts was $10.77. I contacted 1Call to asked for an itemized list of parts which I finally received about two weeks later. The parts list provided by 1Call included items that were not actually provided. The 1Call technician had padded the parts list to increase the parts cost by about 7 times. I contacted the local owner of 1Call Plumbing to let him know that his employee was padding charges for time and parts assuming that the owner would want to know that because a rogue employee can cause great harm to a business. It took some time (weeks), but what I found out, based upon statements made be the owner, was that the owner was on-board with that sort of behavior. The owner never bothered to come inspect the work that was done; apparently that did not interest him. I recommend against using 1Call plumbing, especially if you do not have experience with plumbing issues. I believe that the 1Call service technician thought my wife was an easy mark for being taken and behaved accordingly while putting on a sweet demeanor. I have occasionally run into this sort of thing, which is why I did some ?test runs? with different plumbers in town to find one I could trust. The most disappointing experience was dealing with the owner of 1Call because he condoned the behavior of his employee. I would like to end on some sort of positive note, so I will say that the receptionist was very courteous for the duration of the episode.

The plumber who was sent to our house was very courteous, professional, and honest. He got our water softener installed and running in no time. It took a while to get the installation finally done, but it was because he was working with our existing, older model water softener, so we had to order parts from the manufacturer. What I appreciated the most about this plumbing company was that they installed our water softener, when another plumbing company I found on Angie's List had said that NO ONE from Las Cruces would come out and install our water softener. I will use 1-Call in the future!
