Small jobs welcome

"Rocky Mountain Refuse was quick to respond to my request for a quote. They asked relevant questions and requested photos of the work that needed to be done. They quickly returned with a quote via phone call, which I appreciated. We scheduled for the work to be completed at the beginning of the following week. However, the day before the work was to be done, they said they had an opening and could do the work that day. This worked for us so we scheduled them to come out that afternoon. They were very polite, professional and a pleasure to work with. We would recommend them and would certainly hire them again!"

"Scott and his crew were prompt in responding, gave me an on-site estimate on the same day I called, and performed the work the very next day. The crew cleaned up and removed the rubbish. They left behind a pruning tool, so I called Scott and it was picked up before lunch. It was a great experience. I plan to hire them again for future work."

"It went really well. Sean responded, came over, and gave me an estimate very quickly. I was also able to schedule the service for that week, and it was completed.

My roof looks brand new, and very durable now. I was also happy that the coating went over the TPO and the connections, ensuring that if there were any cracks, spaces, or openings that could lead to a leak were covered.

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

Household products such as paints, cleaners, oils, and batteries are considered hazardous and should not be disposed of with regular household waste. Instead, look for local household hazardous waste collection facilities where you can safely dispose of these items without harming the environment or human health.

If the lead paint is in a place that is not easily disturbed and is not flaking or deteriorating, you do not necessarily need to remove it. Lead is toxic when dust particles or flakes from peeling lead paint are ingested. If people are not in the area with the lead paint, it may be safe to leave it in place. You still may want to consider encapsulation with a paint formulated for covering lead-based paint, just for an added layer of protection.

The EPA enforces hazardous waste laws and ensures people dispose of their hazardous waste responsibly. Depending on where you live, your state’s hazardous waste regulatory agency may also enforce these laws. Individually, it’s up to each household to properly dispose of their hazardous waste.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

By using PPE, sealing work areas, and following containment procedures.
