"Mountainside was easy to work with and I was pleased with how the staff listened to my questions. The work went quickly and cleanup was nice. My neighbors (some are in construction) complimented the results. I ordered concrete color tiles from Davis Concrete Colors. The web picture and color sheets don’t show them accurately. "Start was delayed by one day. Initial walk through with foreman did not happen as he did not show up until later. (He took very incomplete notes during initial contract discussion so made assumptions and mistakes, as did I.) Lost an entire faucet because I missed it on their contract rewrite. Ugh! Had to argue to get them to replace correct buckled walkway sections. The morning of the concrete deck pour had to have them reframe the deck due to not paying attention to detail. Also, I had to wrangle with them to come pick up the wood from the rotting decking being replaced with the concrete pour. It was way to much stress with these guys. This said, they were the best price. If you insist on a formal pre-contract-start walk through to make sure everyone is on the same page, they have good workers who know their stuff. The work is quality work. If you go in knowing you have to be the project manager, you can save a few bucks."

Customers say: True professional

"The team was here when they said they would be and were always polite and professional and answered any questions that I had. The job took roughly four days to complete. After a few days I noticed a couple issue towards the end of the driveway so I contacted them and they came out to assess the issue and agreed they would address my concerns. I am very very pleased with the service and professionalism of this company. They made sure each day they left that my property was clean and tidy from their days work. This company is quite busy however it is well worth the wait to have them do your concrete work."

"Very pleased with work Gus did. He was involved with much of the work himself. Quick demolition, nice job on new patio. Came out several times to prepare concrete for sealing. Used 2 coats to seal slab. He will also be installing a patio cover for me in the next month."

"They are a rare breed. Showed up as agreed, performed high quality work and cleaned up after the project. This review platform does not allow entry of full scope of work. From concrete demo to new patio and block wall. Grading, rock work, all done on time and within budget. This won't be the last time I hire this high quality firm."

Concrete Resurfacing questions, answered by experts

Like all concrete, pervious concrete is susceptible to cracking due to expansion and contraction from freezing and thawing or heavy weight. Pervious concrete, however, is less likely to crack due to moisture intrusion than traditional concrete since pervious concrete is designed to drain and hold water in the material’s voids.

The repair method for a damaged concrete patio depends on the type of damage. For surface cracks, a concrete crack filler is a quick and simple fix. For larger cracks or uneven slabs, you may need to hire a professional to pump a cementitious material under the sunken portion to lift it back into place. For heavy spalling and other surface damage, resurfacing may be the best and most affordable option. This includes pouring a new layer of concrete over the old layer.

The biggest downside to resurfacing concrete is its lifespan. Concrete resurfacing lasts for five to ten years, on average, while a new concrete slab would last for 20 to 30. The cost of concrete resurfacing is much lower, but you get more value from full replacement. Resurfacing also doesn’t address any underlying issues with your slab, so you may need additional repairs, like mudjacking.

If your concrete steps have crumbled or chipped, you can fix them by removing any chips or flakes, cleaning and wetting the affected area, applying a concrete bonding agent, and finally applying new concrete, usually in the form of Portland cement. For widespread damage, you can consider concrete resurfacing instead. For fixing concrete spalling that has led to deep damage, you might need to remove damaged material, add structural supports, and pour new concrete into a mold.

Seal joints, clean debris regularly, and address cracks promptly to maintain appearance and stability.
