"All work completed in a timely and professional manner, including a new filter base for an electrostatic filter. They also took the time to adjust/repair a damper sheet guide in the existing duct work that was causing binding during installation or removal."

"The owner & technician (who was in training) did a good job & helped confirm a problem with the ducts in my furnace. The owner, who seemed very knowledgeable, also recommended a washable electrostatic furnace filter, which I ordered and it seems to be working fine."

"Isaac was very professional, asked about what we expected and looked over carpet. He told me what he could do with our fairly old carpet and then did the cleaning. I didn't expect it to look brand new, but he did a good job of removing the stains and making it look much better. Thank you Isaac!"

"Rick and Dave are great! We have used their services since 2003 and have been happy with all of their work.
In 2003, we lived in a single level, flat-roofed home that had in-floor ductwork. The ducting system collapsed. After obtaining many estimates, we decided to go with Custom Air to create a new duct system on our roof with a combo heat/cool unit. We were extremely pleased with their work, pricing and warranty. We have recommended them to several people in the last 12 years, and no one has been disappointed!
The latest work was a furnace replacement in our current home. Once again, we were extremely pleased with their work, pricing and warranty.
You can't go wrong calling Custom Air!

Air Duct Cleaning questions, answered by experts

A DIY duct leakage test should be part of your annual home maintenance routine. Conducting this test annually allows you to identify and promptly address new leaks. Regular testing helps maintain the efficiency of your HVAC system, reduce energy costs, and ensure a healthier indoor environment by preventing leaks from going undetected for extended periods.

As a general guideline, the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) recommends cleaning air ducts every three to five years. However, the ideal frequency depends on your specific circumstances. You may need more frequent cleanings if you have pets, household members with allergies or respiratory issues, use a wood-burning fireplace, or live in a dusty area. Other signs that it's time for a cleaning include visible mold, musty odors, poor airflow, or if you've recently completed a home renovation. While the EPA states that ducts only need cleaning when these issues arise, regular maintenance can help prevent problems and improve indoor air quality.

While you can put air fresheners at the opening to ductwork, most experts don’t recommend it. You will only disguise the odors rather than treat the underlying cause. Plus, blasting the concentrated chemical fragrance into your home’s air when the HVAC system is on may be overpowering and cause respiratory issues.

You should pick ozone treatment to remove smoke odors because it’s a high-tech fire treatment that removes odor molecules from the air in each room of your home. It’s better at getting rid of smoke smells than many sprays and air fresheners because it oxidizes the actual material that’s causing the odor rather than just covering up the smell.

Figuring out why you have a musty smell in your house is the first step to getting rid of it. Mold or mildew is most likely causing the unpleasant odor. People use these terms interchangeably, but they’re actually different.

Mold is a fungus that loves to grow in moist, humid places. It’s typically black or green and has a raised, uneven texture. Stay vigilant for signs mold may be growing in your home.

You’ll find mildew growing on your shower walls and in your bathroom’s nooks and crannies. It’s a specific type of mold that grows flat. Mildew is usually white, gray, or yellow.
