"This was easily the best experience I've had in Alamogordo with any, and I mean ANY home repair company.  Between electric work and plumbing I've recently dealt with four companies (my house has all but fell apart), and Rufus Electric was honestly the only company I can say was an A+ to deal with.
We lost electricity to half of our house, and after working with Miranda Electric, I figured I'd try someone else.  First of all, Rufus tried to help me out over the phone with my problem, which would have benefited them zilch had their prescription have worked.  That was awesome.  Second, they showed up about four minutes (literally, four freakin' minutes) after I got off the phone with them to diagnose my problem.  After they figured out it wasn't a breaker problem, they let me know they had a full plate for the next couple days, but that they'd be back to fix it.  They showed up two days later, fixed the problem, and only charged me $50!  I spent $80 to have Miranda Electric fix an outlet!!!!  I know where I'm going for any electrical work.  Seriously, take your business to Rufus Electric.  They're nice, relaxed, fair, and I can't recommend them enough.

"Honest family business that does outstanding work, quickly? How can you top that. He explained a lot about lightning and the various dangers. Given my tall, metal roofed home in a wooded setting, I needed lightning protection. I've never had a problem in 23 years, until the past 3 months. The frequency and intensity of electrical storms is increasing. I had two close calls (at the expense of over $1,000 of electronics (that I had plugged into expensive surge protectors!) With something as important as lightning protection, go with experience. Red, White, and Blue has that!"

"Our solar project was great. The experience from beginning to end was a good experience. We are happy with the sales, installation, and performance of our panels. From the time we signed up to the actual install, our sales rep, Chad DeLong, was very helpful and knowledgeable. The installers were in and out and we have had zero issues with anything since then. I check my app all the time to see how it is doing. We got a rebate from xcel last year which was also nice."

"So impressed with his immediate response, then problem solving with me through photos and outlet testing without requiring $ up front, prior to completion of job. Very knowledgeable and continuously responsive! Will post more once job complete, but am very impressed so far!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Unless you have prior electrical experience, it’s best to hire a professional to install your new thermostat for you. Improper installation can damage wiring, lead to a blown fuse, and more.

Three-way switches work in pairs, allowing an operator to control a single light or series of lights from two separate switch locations. Most often, a three-way switch controls a light or light series in a single room.

The common, marked as COM or C, is one of the terminals found in your light switch. It houses the live wire that supplies the input voltage. The other terminals, marked as L1 or L2, are the outputs to the light fixtures. Depending on if you have a one-way or two-way switch, you’ll either have just an L1 terminal or both an L1 and L2 terminal.

Yes, a water leak poses a major fire risk at your home because water is a conductor of electricity. Water that comes into contact with sparks or electrical wires can instantly ignite flammable materials. Additionally, any type of exposure to water can cause wires and other electrical components within your home to corrode. When assessing categories of water damage, it's important to know that even a small amount of moisture near wiring could cause sparks that lead to a fire.

Choosing a unit with higher BTUs can use more electricity if the BTUs are more than what’s necessary for your room size. However, choosing an AC with BTUs that match the size of your room or house, your unit will cool your space efficiently. On the flip side, choosing a system with not enough BTUs can cause the system to work harder to try to cool the space, leading to more electricity consumption and higher energy bills.
