"I contacted several companies to inquire about getting my garage floor coated. Cathy Sanchez, the owner of DVM, was the first to call back and was very responsive throughout the entire process. We were not sure what color we wanted and we wanted to see an installation. Cathy was patient with us, sending a chart with the various colors and looking for an installation in a color we thought we wanted. The installation process itself was flawless. DVM has state-of-the-art equipment for removing the old epoxy and prepping the floor to apply the new epoxy. The workman took great pride in their work explaining to me every step of the process. They even offered suggestions that changed the look of the garage for the better. Bottom line: it was the best experience I have had with work done at my home in a long time."

"He is great and is very thorough with prep. He fills in the cracks and has put in drywall and repairs when necessary before painting. Even his prices are very reasonable and he is very good with communicating with you if there are extra costs needed. He gives options with different prices. Very professional and communicative. I would highly recommend him to anyone and I would definitely hire him again."

"The crew was on time and courteous. Work was completed on time and we were 100% satisfied with the work. At completion they cleaned and sweep up. This is the 3rd landscaping job that Jerome and his crew has done for us. If there is ever need for another job Alliance will be our first call."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Professionals ensure effective adhesion by choosing the right adhesive for the materials, preparing surfaces properly, and applying pressure as needed. This attention to detail ensures durable connections in various applications from construction to repairs.

When you are laying hardwood flooring—or any other material that does not flex well with humidity—you will want to check the moisture level of your subfloor before proceeding. Flooring like luxury vinyl tile and bamboo performs better than more rigid materials in environments where moisture might be present. However, thorough testing is always an excellent preventative measure to control and monitor water in your home.

Resurfacing a garage floor takes about eight hours on average, with another couple hours over three days to do the epoxy. Epoxy goes on in three coats, with each coat taking 24 hours to dry and cure. You’ll need to keep foot and vehicle traffic off of your garage floor for around 4 days in total when replacing your garage floor, so be sure to plan ahead before you start. This is a great time to organize your garage since you’ll need to move everything out to apply the epoxy.

Sealing the concrete before tiling is recommended to help it stand up against any water that may seep through the tiles or grout. After thoroughly cleaning the concrete with TSP, priming with a concrete primer will seal the concrete. Check the label on the primer to make sure it is also a sealant and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application.

The biggest downside of sealing concrete is that it needs to be resealed every few years. This routine maintenance can be laborious if you do it yourself and expensive if you hire a professional. Beyond that, sealing concrete can make the surface slippery, which can be dangerous with people with mobility issues, young children, or those with pools near their patios.
