"They were a life saver. Pleasant, on time and they even clean up after themselves. OMG do you know how many people I have hired that do not do that . I already scheduled them for two months from now and I will Keep using them. They clean my wood burning fireplace and my dryer vent - both were very over due."

"I'm keen on clean, so when I realized my dryer vent apparatus probably hadn't been cleaned since the 10th century, I called Dryer Vent Superheroes of ABQ. And OMG the THRILL of seeing via camera at least a decade of lint (and whatever was living in it) lining the sides of the vent all the way to the roof vent. And then, seeing it all clean and clear afterwards. But wait, there's more! Peter noted the ridiculously long and damage tube from dryer to wall and replaced it. In sum, a swoonworthy experience, especially if you're determined to keep appliances in good working order. Surprise/no surprise, the next load to be dried took 20 minutes instead of an hour."

"They recommended that we replace the dryer as the cost to repair were higher than the allowed limit. The dryer needed heating element and control panel. We are supposed to receive a LOWES gift card within 30 days to replace the dryer. I am satisfied with the recommendation, however 30 days is a long time to be without my dryer. Hopefully the gift card will arrive earlier so that I can replace the dryer in a timely manner."

Dryer Vent Cleaning questions, answered by experts

If you happen to disassemble your dryer vent and feel the inside of the duct immediately after drying a load of laundry, it will likely feel damp and warm. That’s normal, as the vent has just finished moving the humidity and moisture from your laundry to the exterior of your property. However, if your dryer vent has water droplets in it at any time, it’s a sign that there’s trouble with the machine’s ventilation. You should call in a professional right away to get the issue fixed.

The main factor to a full lint trap is what you are drying. Clothing or textiles made of heavy natural materials, like wool sweaters or cotton towels, generally create more lint than synthetic fibers. If you wash the same type of clothes all the time and suddenly start to notice more lint, that may be a sign that your dryer vent is getting clogged and you need to call in a pro for a professional cleaning.

Regularly check and clean the lint screen, inspect vent connections, and ensure proper airflow to maintain clear vents and reduce blockages or buildup.

There are a few things you can look out for that indicate it’s time to clean your dryer vent, including the following:

  • It has been a year or more since the last professional cleaning.

  • Your clothes are taking longer to dry than usual.

  • Your clothes smell musty or burnt when they come out of the dryer.

  • You see lint building up around the outside dryer vent cap.

  • Your laundry room is unusually hot.

  • Your dryer is unusually hot to the touch during operation.

  • You notice a kink in or damage to the vent.

If you're dealing with an odor in your dryer that transfers onto your clothes and linens, here's what you can do: start by cleaning the lint trap and drum with warm soapy water. Then wipe down the interior using a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar to eliminate any lingering odors.

To get rid of odors you can try this method: take a cloth soaked in vinegar and put it inside the dryer. Run the dryer on a heat setting for 15 minutes. Afterward, make sure to dry the drum by running it with some towels. This technique helps eliminate any smells and leaves your dryer smelling nice and fresh.

If the odors remain, you may need to sanitize your dryer or call in a professional house cleaner to handle the job.
