"Everything thing worked out well. I used their recommendation for an additional contractor to remove 50' of hedges and 60 years of debris the previous owner buried. That was affordable and both were up front with all costs before starting everything. I would def use the fence company again."

"I needed stucco repair work on an old chimney (and other spots). Grady was meticulous and thoughtful on what approaches and materials would work. Throughout the project they allocated sufficient time for each treatment to cure and inspected the work before proceeding to the next step. Grady started the project with no money down and only required ongoing payments for materials until the project was well underway. The final payment was due only after they did a final inspection. Total project cost was also below other bids."

"See above.  Several weeks ago I had my air conditioning compressor replaced.  These people (Matt and Jess) are professional, friendly and do what they say they will, for a reasonable price, and the car is ready when they say it will be ready.  They are reliable and honest.  I left my old mechanic over two years ago (for overcharging me on a repair that wasn't needed) and having been doing the normal rounds of the chain tire stores for service since then.  This is an old fashioned neighborhood mechanic, with modern equipment, honest people, doing fine work for a good price.   I am delighted to have found them through Angie's list.  Just another example of why I use Angie's list for every new vendor I go to.

"My initial impression was that this was an honest company and I had dealt with them for chimney cleaning before.  I still feel they are honest, but that doesn't mean that you will get exactly what you need.  And it does not compensate for the lack of care and professionalism in my opinion.  I had had multiple conversations with them about what I want vs. what they recommended.  I just wanted to a couple of broken stone tiles to be replaced, but I was told that they do not do small repair jobs, they want to "do it right" and address all the stones and grout throughout the three steps I have.  I trusted them to do a good job, so I agreed.  But, then I was pushed into having sealant applied to the stone, although I said multiple times that I didn't necessarily want that.  In the end, I agreed to the larger job and the application of the sealant.  The day that the job was performed, I came home and from a distance the steps looked nice and refreshed, but when I looked more closely, I realized that all of the broken stone tiles I had asked to be replaced were put back on as they were and at several different places the steps were not even level, including right in front of my house where water would collect and form an ice sheet.  It became clear to me that they were not supervised at all.  Upon my complaint, one old half tile did get replaced with a newer haIf tile. But, since that was not addressing much, I asked to meet with the person who I had been talking to about this project, but he could not make time to do so.  So, eventually, I made an appointment saying I was staying home from work to be available to speak face to face and he never showed.  He is too busy to spend 15 minutes with the client - who he is forgetting is at least as busy as he is, but is making time for him.  I was very frustrated with his behavior, and now I was forced to explain via email how what I had asked for originally had not been done.  All I wanted was to have a couple of broken tiles to be replaced and placed evenly.  They did everything but what I wanted.  I was still hoping to work something out with them, but all I got was a proud, unapologetic and defensive dismissal.  Instead of taking responsibility for their mistakes and working with me on completing it to address what I wanted to have done in the first place, I was told that it would cost them too much and that they wouldn't do it.  The honest part comes here - they refunded the amount I had already paid them.  I wish it could have been different and instead of losing their whole commission on the job, they could take a smaller hit and take care of their customer.  The only problem is that this was a proud person with a negative attitude, so he chose his pride over the bottom line and customer satisfaction.  I find this capricious and unprofessional, but of course they have a right to give your money back and not do the job.  Consequently, I was back to where I started, with the crooked steps, and the old broken tiles, looking for another mason to do the job. Sorry, Champion.  I really did have a really good opinion of you, before this whole experience.  But, you left me very very unhappy.

"We had Russell came in for a job, where he had to a track training for the MTA and complete 30 hours OSHA training. Welding questions, answered by experts

Since water heaters are primarily made of metal, they’re commonly accepted by scrap yards and collectors. Don’t expect to fetch a high price, though—water heaters are mostly steel and aluminum, which aren’t high-value metals. Some components are made of more valuable metals, like brass and copper, but they’re a small portion of the heater and won’t affect the price much.

There are a few things you can ask welders before you hire them to get an idea of their experience and ability levels:

  • Are you licensed and certified?

  • How long have you been in the welding business?

  • Do you commonly do the type of welding I need?

  • Do you offer any kind of warranty for your work?

  • Do you charge by the hour or by the project?

  • How long do you expect my welding project to take?

  • What steps do you take to minimize errors in your work?

Yes, you can use a saw to cut metal pipes. The best saw to use is a reciprocating saw, but even a fine-tooth hacksaw can get the job done. No matter which saw you use to cut metal pipes, wear protective gear, like work gloves, safety goggles, and ear plugs. Apply a firm, steady pressure to the tool, and always ensure the pipes are secured so they don't move while you make the cuts.

Sawing your hot tub into more manageable chunks so it can be lifted easily into a truck takes several hours. Generally, 2.5 hours for smaller hot tubs and around 4 hours for larger ones with the help of one to two people. If money isn't a concern and you want to skip the physical labor, you can hire a pro to get the job done.

Yes, you can cut up a box spring., but you’ll need to do so in layers. You can clear the fabric and fluff away to reveal the springs before removing them as well.
