"Everyone was just great!  These guys are on the ball!  They have a nice granite selection and we were able to find a very large remnant piece of granite that was lovely.  They came out 3 days later to make the template,  4 days later we were able to go back to check the placement of the template on the granite, and 5 days after that - it was installed.  They shaped a lovely edge and we are happy with the sinks they stocked.  
Both times they came to the house, they called ahead and arrived on time.  They worked carefully, everything fits just right.  We are very pleased.  And it cost almost 1/2 of what Home Depot wanted and with less hassles.  We would definitely use them again and have already recommended them to neighbors.

"On Friday, April 25th 2014 I was having a vinyl floor installed at my house in my kitchen.  I have a bi-level single family home so my kitchen is right above my family room.  The flooring installers, American Carpet South, were nailing down underlayment and put a nail through one of my water pipes.  I walked downstairs and heard dripping so I ran and shut off the water and the ceiling was soaking wet.  I immediately came to Angie's List to look for plumbers to call and saw the good reviews that EFD had so I called them and the owner, Ed, answered after a couple of rings, I frantically told him that I was looking for someone to come out that day and see what happened.  He said that he could be here within an hour or two and he held true to his word.  He came in, took a look at the ceiling and then started to remove small pieces until he could clearly see that a nail from the flooring installers went through the water pipe.  He waited at our house until his crew arrived and they fixed it within 20 minutes.  Everyone was very professional and the work was high quality.  I would certainly call them again the next time I have a plumbing issue and recommend them to anyone else.

I had a small leak under my kitchen sink which could have turned into a larger issue. I'm glad that he was able to identify that the new garbage disposal was installed too loose and that a screw had fallen out during its use. If I waited longer I could have ended up breaking it and spending a lot more money having it fixed.

 

Overall the job was done timely he was on-time and even came out on a Sat morning before 8am.

"I wish i could give 100 gold stars to this company. They did a complete renovation of bathroom into handicap accessible bathroom . I have a 100 year old house that needed to have the current bathroom with tub demolished and replaced with a handicap accessible bathroom with shower only. Along with having a sagging downhill floor with four layers and walls that were not square anymore. They needed to replace the original pipes, a combination of galvanized steel, copper and cast iron. And upgrading the electric in the bathroom. They were professional and meticulous in the care they took removing the old items from the bathroom and basement. Removing old rotted wood and replacing or rebuilding walls and floors. Mike Miller, my project manager, keep me updated on the project daily. He made sure that the dust level was mitigated using plastic to contain the area and covering the floor to prevent damage. His workmanship was first rate, impeccable and perfection to the tenth degree. John Bolli, our plumber not only replaced and updated numerous pipes in our basement but also took the time to check on other items there that he could take care of in the process. They left the work area clean after they were done. Any time you work in a house as old as ours numerous issues can come up. Luis Soto, electrician increased our electric into the bathroom by adding in additional outlets and the ability to have an exhaust fan. I know have four plugs versus 1 which is a luxury to me. Steve Sidman, painter, was meticulous in painting not only our bathroom walls, trim and door but also a very narrow accessible skylight that is very high up. And it all started with Doug Mottershead, the bathroom designer, and his suggestions and guidance in making sure all the handicap accessible items were put into the space but taking a small bathroom space and make it more spacious with his guidance on the style of sink and cabinet and numerous safety bars. And even the height of the toilet and shower. And help with picking out tiles, paint colors and faucets. Neil, who delivered and set up the trailer containing all items so that they had everything available that they would need for the job. And the removal of the demolished bathroom and trailer upon completion. Everyone involved in the project who came into my home under Mike's management was professional, friendly, and experienced in what their job was. Even now if i have any issues come up or notice a few items that needed touch ups Mike was more than receptive to my call and took care of everything asap. They really felt like part of our family while they were here especially since we only have one bathroom and were living with my mom next door during the three week process. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone looking for bathroom renovations or kitchen renovations which they also do. And in the future that will be our next project to tackle with their help. The workmanship and skill of all the employees involved in my project definitely showed in the care and way they worked on the project. McHales should be very proud of their skills as it reflects on the business and having skilled qualified employees. They all deserve a double bonus for what they brought to our job site. And Jenny Griffin, McHales Cares Coordinator, who came out during the job to make sure we were satisfied and happy with the progress of our job and delivered a really cute gift package and other information. "Luis and his team are AMAZING. From the very start, Luis was extremely responsive to phone calls and emails. He got back to me right away and was able to set up a time to do an estimate within days. He came to see the apartment and had multiple creative suggestions for how to use my space best. He was very organized when it came to submitting an estimate. All items were clearly delineated with prices and work to be done. But, in reality, he did a lot more work than he had listed on those sheets. I had many, many contractors come to give me an estimate, but Luis was unique because I could tell that he genuinely cared about how the place would look and wasn't just trying to get me to sign on. If I mentioned things, he would tell me upfront if it would be difficult or not possible, but his motto is "everything is possible" so in the end he was able to do a tremendous amount in the apartment. The unit I bought was built in the 1960s, had never been updated and had not been taken well care of. There was a TREMENDOUS amount to be done, and Luis and his team did a remarkable job. They really made my place look the best it could possibly look. They are perfectionists and independant thinkers. I never needed to tell them to do or change things - if something didn't look right, they would change it on their own. They are tremendously hard-working and extremely respectful of my things in the apartment. They would even take their shoes off once the hardwood was installed to keep the floors clean! The company is called Fine Painters, but they do a lot more than painting. They did a complete renovation from start to finish including carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, and more. I live in a building with multiple restrictions for who can do work in the building. Luis prepared all the plans, drawings etc that were needed for approval. Luis even paid for and took a course in removal of flooring with asbestos glue because that was what was required by my building even though they already knew the correct procedures. They didn't try to sell me things at a high mark-up like many other contractors do. I bought my own materials, but when I needed a suggestion (i.e. tiles, hardwood floors) Luis had great suggestions and passed on his contractor discount to me. They worked in a timely fashion and were always willing to help me with anything I needed, even if it was not in the scope of the project they were working on. They often went to the store to pick up things I had forgotten or didn't know where to get. They are very caring. Their work ethic is unmatched. They follow-up on every details with the job from start to finish. The bottom line: the work they did was unbelievably good and they were a total pleasure to work with. If you are looking for a contractor for any project, big or small, do not hestitate to have them give you an estimate. Once you meet them, you will be sold! that needed to be performed, as well as a cost and time estimate to install these improvements. I appreciated being able to ask questions and have a positive and informed discussion about the issues. Dan is a very pleasant and knowledgeable "gentleman" who works very hard at explaining the tasks that needed to be performed. Dan is the one who made me believe in the Mark Group and it's ability to make these changes translate into energy savings.

When the work was scheduled to be performed, the installers were knowledgeable professionals, who showed up on time and worked long hours to get the work complete within the two date estimate.

The work was done with respect for my property and without undue interruptions. The installers were also very pleasant and informative.

Dave Condin was the final person who came to do quality control. He is an amazing and talented person. He is fun to talk with and seems to be the ultimate problem solver.

A week after the installation we are now facing a heat wave, and I can already see the benefits of this program. My house does not heat up because of the attic. The air conditioning runs less frequently, and the house seem far more comfortable.

The best part is that PEPCO agrees to a rebate off the cost of the installation. This makes the process and unbelievable bargain.
