"I called All Complete Construction for a free estimate on repairing shingles on my roof after having contacted two other companies to no avail. Once I contacted All Complete Construction he promptly had someone come and look at my roof the next day for an estimate. Their crews was very knowledgeable and was able to explain about some leakage problem I had last winter and guaranteed me that the issue would be resolved after fixing the sides of the house. I decided to go ahead and hire their services. They were able to fit me on their schedule on that same week and they were very professional with the way they handled everything. My roof is not flat, I had one other company tell me they had to charge me over 2k just to add some securities around the house as it was a very dangerous roof apparently. These guys were pros. They had the job done in one day and found a way to climb over my deck so they didnâ t have to come inside the house. They even have a drone and updated me with pictures and videos of the work. All Complete Construction is very professional company. I would definitely hire them again."

"I recently had a wooden deck built by Marco and the team at Pro Build USA Construction LLC, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, Marco was professional, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented. He took the time to listen to what I wanted, offered great suggestions, and delivered a final product that exceeded my expectations. "UE took on a job that few others would even consider and knocked it out of the park! We had a very poorly constructed 2-tier deck which needed very careful handling to reinforce and bring up to code. Uliks and his crew expertly and meticulously lifted, leveled, fortified, and rebuilt as needed to turn our nightmare into a sanctuary! Finished off with beautiful composite decking and cable railing, the deck has been transformed from a constant stress to pure relaxation! I highly recommend UE!"

"Eddie came with a partner and they did a beautiful job. Immaculate work. I found no fault what so ever. He had to raise the cabinets and then repair and paint the wall. He was here exactly when he said he would be here for both the estimate and the job. He does great follow up and has a great work ethic. He is just such a joy to work with."

Deck Repair questions, answered by experts

Constant exposure to inclement weather conditions can damage your deck, causing it to fade, warp, or crack over time. Regular maintenance keeps it looking and performing its best. That means giving it a good cleaning and applying a quality sealant or wood treatment to help defend against moisture, sun damage, and everyday wear.

When sourced responsibly, the most sustainable wood decking options are timber trees like redwood, pine, Douglas fir, Nootka cypress, and Western red cedar. These tree species are fast-growing with low carbon emissions. Plus, most timber woods make durable deck materials because of their resistance to rot and decay over time.

A quality, well-maintained PVC decking can last 30 to 50 years. It’s known for being one of the most durable types of decking materials, with composite decking having a 25- to 30-year average lifespan and some softwood deckings only lasting 10 to 15 years. Luxury hardwood decks like Ipe may last longer than PVC decking, but they can cost more and require more maintenance.

Building a deck without a permit could lead to fines for both the homeowner and the contractor. The exact penalties will depend on your state and municipal building laws. You might also be required to remove the deck and apply for a permit before you can build another. While it might be tempting to skip the permit to save a few bucks, it’ll cost you much more if you’re caught.

In most cases, sanding an old deck before staining it is necessary to achieve a decent finish. If your old deck has a relatively new stain finish on it and you're only doing touch-ups, you can generally skip the sanding part. However, if your goal is to make the deck look and function better, sanding first is a must.
