"I work from home full-time, so having contractors in the house for several weeks made me nervous. But honestly, the Belmax crew made it so stress-free. They showed up on time every morning, greeted my dog, asked before moving anything, and cleaned up before leaving. The project manager checked in constantly, and I always knew what was happening next. The new island and layout make cooking so much easier, and the craftsmanship is obvious ? even the small details look perfect. It feels good when a company treats your home with respect. Belmax absolutely earned my trust."

"Lee, the owner, came to my rescue when a previous contractor performed sub-standard work and left me in limbo. Lee had already performed some impressive work in the basement of my house 4 years ago when working for another contractor; I couldn't be happier to now know Lee has his own business!! I will most certainly be dealing with Lee from now on, and have already recommended him to friends."

"TNN managed our new construction and land development project from scratch. Tim caught MANY errors by the Engineer and Architect before they could become a problem. He made many great suggestions to elevate our original plans. Work quality is great and they take pride in everything they do. Nick did an amazing job on our trapezoid windows and carpentry work. We highly reccommed TNN and will continue to use them for the next phase of our project (garage) We would be happy to provide a reference and even show the work they completed for our project. "TCW Builders has completed numerous jobs for us and they always exceed our expectations. Jobs have ranged from Door / Window replacement, finished Basement and rebuilding a huge multilevel Deck. There are so many positives about TCW that it's hard to choose what to write about. Some contractors will start the job and disappear. When TCW schedules your job they are committed to finishing it. They took extra time to insure that the design and materials are exactly what we wanted. Trevor even scheduled a separate meeting with the Deck Railing representative so that we knew every option of what was available and he installed it perfectly. We're already planning the next project for TCW Builders."

"Very well. Mark is extremely responsive. I had a clear vision of what I wanted to do and Mark was able to get me to a great plan with about three iterations of the plans. Also Mark's plans were approved without revision by the building department which is not easy to do where we were building."

"Ronda came to us through our general contractor. She assisted us in selecting our cabinets, counter tops, hardware and tile. She met with us multiple times at our house to work through the cabinet design. And we met with her multiple times at her studio and the tile shop to select our counter top and tile. Always ready to help, she is knowledgeable and has innate design ability. More than that, she can explain her design choices, yet is willing to discuss alternatives and work through the design process in a collaborative manner, bringing many ideas to the table – or kitchen, as it were. She listens to her clients and was able to translate our ideas into a comprehensive design. Throughout the process Ronda worked with our contractor and with us to make certain everything came together as planned. While there were a number of minor snafus, she was always there to make certain issues were resolved and to keep the job moving ahead. Cabinets and counter tops are a significant portion of the remolding cost. Cabinet manufactures are not all that interested in dealing directly with the customer. Rather, they work through their distributors. We purchased our cabinets through Ronda who has a strong working relationship with the manufactures she deals with and can easily work out issues. Thank you Ronda for a wonderful new kitchen!"

Unfinished Carpentry FAQs, answered by experts

Yes, a 2x6 should hold a porch swing and safely support the load. A smaller joist runs the risk of it not offering enough support for the swing. If you have a joist smaller than 2x6, add additional bolstering support.

Framing is the shell of the house. It includes several steps, including studs, plumbing, and electricity. A professional will ensure the wall frame is secured for the house’s structural integrity.

Framing prices change depending on the material and whether the wall is load-bearing. Most contractors use wood to frame a home, but metal is another popular choice.

A-frame homes are on the smaller side. While there’s no set square footage amount it has to be, it will usually come in around 1,000 square feet or smaller.

Yes, professional installations include reinforced corner posts to ensure durability.

Baseboards don’t have to be nailed into studs. However, nailing them into studs adds to their stability. When studs aren’t available, you can secure them with drywall nails directly into the drywall and adhesive. Always aim to nail into studs, especially in high-traffic or impact-prone areas.
