"Very professional and knowledgeable of what was required as an arborist. He went to my address immediately and sent over an estimate and broke down exactly what other arborist told me and made recommendations. Angel is very responsible and reasonably priced and he communicated his timing on when to expect the job to be completed which was right on time in fact he started the job before the date he had indicated he would be able to but he completed ahead of schedule. While at my property I mentioned an issue with my gate and he even had his team repair the gate for me complimentary. I would definitely be using him as well as recommend him to my friends and neighbors if asked."

"Service was excellent; the arborists lived up to their name - friendly. The person who came out to quote the job was quick yet thorough and gave me some advice on some trees gratis (trees not part of the contract.) they arrived 30 minutes late - outside of a 12:00 to 2:00 window. But the quality work they did made up for that one glitch. I will definitely hire them again next time my trees beg for a clip and trim."

"Sami came by when promised, gave a quote better than I expected, showed up on the date promised and the time promised! The whole project of 3 tree removals took less time than anticipated and they clean up very nicely. If needed, will definitely use again. I am impressed which hasn't happened with me in a long time. Thank you Sami's Tree Service."

"Showed up for estimate and the job right on time. The estimate was very affordable. I had 6 tree stumps to grind. A few side roots were missed but overall a very satisfactory job."

"They were there bright and early. Removed a fence panel to bring in machinery. Put some kind of padding over grass for machine which avoided damage to lawn. Cut down extreamly large tree and all went well. Hauled away all debris and put fence panel back as previously. Was almost like they were never there. Been through some nightmares with tree contractors before. This was by far the most professionally ran company I have dealt with. I will not bother shopping around again and will call sage for any tree work I need done in the future."

Arborists FAQs, answered by experts

It’s possible to transplant trees as tall as 50 feet when an experienced tree planting service uses the right equipment. However, a tree with a trunk larger than two or three inches in diameter needs to be handled by a professional in order to yield successful transplanting results. Consulting a tree planting professional is the best way to tell if your large tree can be safely transplanted.

For trimming trees, your best tool is a pair of pruning shears or loppers. Both options work best for branches that are under 3 inches in diameter. Trimming trees with a larger diameter may require a robust tool like a small chainsaw or a handsaw, so take into account your tree’s diameter when deciding between tools.

In the short term, you’ll have a lot of fallen trees to deal with. Tree removal services costs typically start at $200 per tree and increase based on species and size. Then, you’ll have to deal with the loss of trees: That means a loss of shade and a greater risk of rain runoff and erosion. Also, you’ll miss out on the health and aesthetic benefits of having trees on your property, which could even affect the resale value of your home.

That being said, cutting down a tree it’s not always a bad idea. Trees growing too close to rooftops can present fire hazards or debris problems. You may need to remove diseased or dying trees to prevent future issues.

Aside from removing dead or diseased branches, you should prune your trees somewhere between every one and three years. Some people—particularly commercial farmers—prune their apple trees yearly to produce higher yields. This is the best way to promote tree health. That said, the average homeowner can get away with hard-pruning their mature apple tree every other year or every three years.

Cutting down a dead tree is always strongly advisable. Aside from being an eyesore, a dead tree can be extremely hazardous, especially when it’s near people or structures. Even if the tree isn’t near your home, it can still harbor pests and diseases that can potentially spread to nearby plants and homes.
