"Matt and his team were hard working and very professional. His work is beautiful. I was asked a lot of smart questions about what I wanted, as to tile placement and design. I felt really good about the job being done throughout the process. I am absolutely in love with my beautifully transformed kitchen. I would and will recommend Floor Install Systems to anyone asking about a good tile flooring company. Thanks Matt!"

"Steve & Rick did a great job on our garage floor. We wanted to do it ourselves but couldn't get the oil and dirt stains out. So after searching the internet we found Steve's company. He came out and gave us an estimate which was more than we had planned to spend, but we weren't able to do it ourselves. He was very informative and explained the entire process. After some thought we decided to bite the bullet and go with Floor Guard. Steve invited us to stop by his home and look how his garage turned out with the flooring and cabinets.  It was beautiful.  Steve gave us an estimate as to when he would be able to come out and complete the job. About a week before he contacted us, and set up the date and time they would be here as well as emailing us with a preparation list for getting the garage ready for their arrival.  They were on time and Rick completed the 1st process on Wednesday and Steve came on Thursday to finish things up.  Without a doubt it look great. Family and friends that have seen it love how it looks.   I am encouraged that they offer a 20 year guarantee for the floor and hope I wouldn?t need to use it. The only regret I have is the I didn't seal off the door from the house to the garage with a plastic sheet. That caused a little more clean up on our part than it would have had we put the plastic up.

"Wow!! I did not think my floors would look as good as they do. There were so many deep gouges and scratches, that I thought they would come out just OK...Boy, what a surpise!! Everyone that sees my floors are so impressed. If that weren't enough, the professionalism I received was top notch. Ed came personally, looked at what needed to be done and gave me an accurate estimate. Unlike some others that didn't want to be bothered and just gave an estimate over the phone. Out of all the contractors I had to work with, Ed was the only one that stood out as a true professional. Thanks Ed"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Whether or not transition pieces go under the baseboard depends on a few different factors. If the transitions are being installed with the flooring and before the baseboards, then they will go under the baseboards. If the baseboards are already installed, then it depends on whether or not you want to remove them or undercut them. If not, the transition pieces can butt up against the baseboard.

Professional installation ensures seamless fitting, extended carpet life, and compliance with workplace standards.

Few home upgrades add resale value above their installation cost, including terrazzo floors. However, they are still a good option if you like the look. While terrazzo may be expensive, it has a solid return on investment of around 55% to 70%. The durability and low maintenance requirements of terrazzo can be appealing selling points, as many buyers will appreciate flooring that can last 40 to 100 years.

If you don’t put padding under your carpet, the carpet won’t be protected from wear on the underside. This could result in a shorter life span for your carpet and increased carpet repair costs over time. An unpadded carpet can also be less comfortable to walk on, depending on your subfloor and the type of carpet.

When considering cork flooring pros and cons, you may have toyed with the idea of getting other types of flooring, including hardwood. But how does it compare in price? Your new cork flooring can cost less than hardwood, depending on the wood type you choose. Cork costs about $5 to $19 per square foot, while hardwood costs $6 to $25 per square foot.
