"I had a great experience with Affordable Waste Water Solutions. Chris, the owner, came out to locate all of the components of my older septic system. The existing drawings were inaccurate, but he was determined to find everything and didn’t give up until every component was located. Chris took the time to answer all of my questions, explain how the system was configured, and help me understand what I was dealing with. He was professional, knowledgeable, and extremely patient throughout the process. On top of that, he cleaned everything up when the job was finished and left the property looking great. It’s hard to find contractors who are this thorough and committed to doing the job right. I highly recommend Affordable Waste Water Solutions to anyone needing septic system troubleshooting, locating, or evaluation services."

"Excellent service and communication. Very professional and responsive! Called me immediately after putting my request for service in for a clogged toilet. Very quick and prompt response for service! Also, for an urgent call the service charge was surprisingly reasonable. Especially being in a rental on the island. The technician that provided the service was very professional and friendly. Thank you so much! If you need a plumber do not hesitate to call Venerable Drain Service."

Customers say: True professional

"A.J. Perri tech came to our home to repair leaky 3rd floor shower which was coming through the ceiling of the 2nd floor. Based on the estimate of 2 previous plumbers and the hard-to-reach nature of the job, we were worried. But unlike the prior estimates, the tech confidently and quickly assessed a loose shower drain. He had it repaired in 10 minutes and was very reasonable in the charge. It's still leak-free a month later."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Yes, plumbing in a mobile or manufactured home is different from that in a traditional home. The most significant differences relate to the design, location, and materials used. In a standard home, plumbing pipes typically run through the walls. In a mobile home, which is not a permanent structure, the pipes are often smaller and routed through the floor or a crawl space underneath the home. Additionally, the building codes, permits, and materials used for mobile home plumbing can differ from those for standard homes. For specific details about the design and installation of your mobile home's plumbing, it's best to consult a certified professional plumber with experience in this area.

A cistern works by collecting rainwater from your gutters and downspouts and storing it in a holding tank. The holding tank can be installed above or below ground, and the size will depend on your household needs. The stored water can then be used for household tasks, watering your garden, and even for drinking water.

Almost all plumbers have emergency service options and 24/7 numbers you can call for service during off-hours like in the evening. But be careful before you dial: Plumbers will charge extra fees for off-hour services, even if the cost isn’t quite as high as a weekend visit. Expect to pay around 1½ times more than the usual rates for plumbers in your area for off-hour calls.

You can buy a sealant spray for a leaking copper pipe, but it’s not a permanent solution and isn’t usually a good idea. For the best adhesion, you should drain the pipe, let it dry completely, apply the spray, and wait for it to dry before turning the water back on. Even with proper technique, a sealant spray is a temporary fix, so you should only use this technique in the interim to prevent water damage if you’re waiting for a more permanent fix.

A clawfoot tub's water supply lines and drain pipe are visible above the floor. When the water leaves the bath, it enters the drain pipe, which leads under the floor, before connecting to the main drain pipe leading to the sewer system or septic tank. Some modern clawfoot tubs also feature an overflow hole and pipe to prevent the bath water from spilling out if you overfill it.
