"While our basement came out good, there were several extra costs that our PM John came up with that we feel could have been included prior to the work beginning in the contract or in the extras section of the contract. Things like stair replacement, trying to get us to install 2 sump pumps + a second electric panel. Regarding the pumps, the plumber actually recommended against the 2 pumps as he was able to connect all of our window wells to a single pump, also eliminating the need for a second panel. They also installed low quality hi-hats as our lights continue to flicker and pretty much told us that it?s normal and nothing can be done. Lastly, the workers left our unfinished area a mess at the end of the project- leftover debris and our furnace a water heater were left covered in dust. If you don?t mind feeling price gauged and having your concerns not taken seriously, this is the company for you. "

"I’ve been a customer of Wilber’s for several years. Up till now I’ve always found them to be reasonable in price, professional, reliable and trustworthy. I don’t know what’s happened but, they are no longer the company they used to be. I recently hired Wilbers to repair a loose newel post at the bottom of my stairs. When Danny the estimator came he explained that it might be an easy fix or more involved if they needed to install a new 4X4 interior post. Though I requested that he provide estimates for both scenarios he only sent the estimate for the worst case scenario. I let that go because I trusted that they would do the right thing should it prove to be an easy fix. When they arrived it turned out that all that was needed was to replace the wooden board in the basement with a 2 ft. 2x4 and tighten the bolt that runs inside the post. The workers were here for 1 hour and for this Wilber’s decided that a fair price was $820. It seemed absolutely outrageous to me that they would charge me $820 to tighten a bolt so I tried reaching out to Wilber 3 times and asked that he call me back to discuss. Well he never called me back. I can only assume that he knows full well that he did is wrong and is unable to justify his outrageous pricing. It’s sad that Wilber thinks this is how you should treat a loyal customer and it’s certainly disappointing to discover what an unprofessional and unethical person he is. I certainly will never utilize the services of Wilbers ever again and I would caution anyone thinking of hiring them to think twice. Wilber is a man that lacks integrity and therefore someone you cannot trust to do business with."

"The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that I only give 5 stars for perfection and flawless execution (which is a high standard I know and I don't give out many). There were a couple of issues that we did have (not having a dumpster on site from the beginning, leading to a pile of debris, still waiting on a final clean up for some concrete that got on our driveway) NONE of it realted to the deck itself however. If you are looking for a deck to be built, I encourage you to contact Deck Guardian (DG) for your decking needs. We used Deck Guardian (DG) for our recent deck construction. We were looking to do a large deck spanning 1/2 way around our 27 foot above ground pool. I got several companies to give me estimates. All of the companies "quotes" were merely a final number written on a piece of paper or a simple email. Not Deck Guardian! The estimate we got from DG was detailed and explained EXACTLY what we would be getting and how the cost was calculated. Head and shoulders above the rest. Were they the cheapest? No, but they weren't the most expensive either. When we decided to go with them, we were invited into the show room and were given many different options for our decking materials. All of the other guys offered 2 choices- wood decking or TREX. DG had an entire section of colors and styles of not only decking, but also railing and finishing touches (such as the option to have lights installed in the posts). DG then came out, and created an absolutely BEAUTIFUL deck for us! They even made sure that we passed all inspections (even fought it out for us when my town failed us on the final inspection (for some reasons the town made up)) and got us through everything. in all, we are EXTREMELY pleased with the entire process (Ion and Dave were our main points of contact and Marlin was our builder). The final product is AMAZING and we have gotten a TON of compliments! See pics below"
