"Elias was not only an expert in everything but he was courteous and perfect results of all work done. The price was more than fair and the owner Eric was a true gentleman. This job was done solely by his foreman Elias and everything went off without a hitch!! If you need a contractor call Big E, I know I will for any future work needed. "It well very well. Brian arrived on time to give me estimation. The following day he again arrived on time and started the job one by one. The work was initially planned for two hours. However, we got some issues while the work was undergoing. It took more than four hours to complete. But, Brian did not lose his focus and completed the job to our satisfaction. He did not charge me anything extra for the extended hours. His rate is reasonable, work is good and overall he is a dependable handyman."

"I got 3 estimates and this company was the best price. From the free estimate to completion of work, everything was so professional. They showed up on time with a 7-man crew, so the job was completed in one day. Six years after the job was done, my basement is still bone dry - so dry it actually gets dusty! My crawlspace is so low a person can only crawl around, but they did a great job there, as well, installing a thick white vapor barrier."

"I had some windows replaced in a beach home in Ocean Beach Unit 1.  I have the unit rented for Labor Day weekend and then I have a winter renter coming in, so it was kind of a rush.  These guys have done some other work for me in the past and they do nice work for good prices.  I didn't even get estimates, I just hired them and they did the work.  They are going to replace the windows in my home in Wayne too.  On time, done right, fair price, great product."

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

Because egress windows are meant for emergency exiting and entering, they need to be an accessible size. The smallest an egress window is allowed to be is 15 inches in width and height, with an opening of around 4 square feet.

To find and hire a reputable contractor for an egress window installation, you should first research local professionals and then vet your top candidates. Start by searching for local contractors who specialize in this type of work, read their customer reviews, and examine their website and portfolio. Once you have a shortlist, contact them to ask key questions: Are you licensed and insured? What is your specific experience installing egress windows? Can you provide references from previous customers? Do you perform the work yourself or use subcontractors? What is the estimated project timeline and your current schedule? How do you handle payment?

The entire window replacement process, from the initial consultation to the final installation, typically takes between four and 15 weeks. This timeline accounts for measuring appointments, ordering, and manufacturing. On the day of the job, the physical installation takes about 30 minutes to two hours per window. A full-house replacement can take one to three days to complete. Factors that can extend this timeline include the total number of windows, custom sizes, complex window types, second-story installations, and any necessary repairs to existing window frames or openings.

An egress window is similar to a regular window. However, this type of window opens fully to allow people to escape the home or rescue personnel to enter the home if an emergency occurs. Egress windows are required in all finished basements before they can be considered a living space.

They meet local code demands for escape routes, lighten basements, and aid in reducing overall humidity.
