"We had quite a bit of work to be done for our spring cleanup. Trimming shrubs/trees, weeding 4 beds, removing a rhododendron that didn't make it thru the winter (RIP), edging 2 of the beds, & spreading dyed black mulch in all 4 beds. Lou, John & nephew(?) arrived when they said they would (8 am), worked continuously, & had the job done before noon. Very meticulous. Was very pleased with end result & will definitely be hiring them next year."

Small jobs welcome

"Paul and his crew of two additional painters worked with us to be sure we were happy. Work included having to prep walls that I removed wallpaper myself from unprofessionally, and they made them look new again! They were organized, clean and even used a HEPA vacuum (managing dust). They worked quickly, yet professionally every day and performed every agreed upon step as contracted. I received a few quotes for the work and Paul s price was very competitive, but equally important, he and his team were a pleasure to have work in our home. We are 100% satisfied and now my wife wants to paint more rooms because we found Paul and Central Jersey Painting. They trustworthy and we are lucky to have found them through Homeadvisor. A+++"

"Miguel was efficient and very easy to work with. The wallpaper removal was not an easy task, but he got it done and painted. We are definitely pleased with the results. We're having him back for another job too."

"You can't do better, in my opinion. Price is reasonable and quality of work is very high. They took care of wallpaper removal, popcorn ceiling removal, drywall repair and painted my entire place. Howard and his team are extremely reliable, detailed, thorough and clean. He doesn't overcharge and did an amazing job removing the popcorn ceilings from my entire place - which has sloped, high and angled ceilings with various cuts - and his estimate for that portion of the work was much lower than anyone else's."

"We were not pleased with the work of this company.  While the price is right, there were so many things that went wrong on the job that I'm not sure if I can remember all of them.
First of all, when I hire a painter, my assumption is that they will work on my job only until the project is complete.  This was not the case.  The painters left the job for days on end, being called to other locations.  The work was sloppy in numerous places - we had to keep calling them back to correct things.  I also had bedroom furniture damaged when the workers moved my end tables to another room - they didn't take the care necessary to protect them.  Walls under light covers/cable covers were not painted - they were left the original color of the rooms.  My bedroom wall has cracked in one place already - as they didn't do the repair needed in that area evidently to prevent that from happening.  Paint has chipped in other areas - something which should not happen so soon after completion.
At exterior painting they also didn't take care to protect elements of the home properly.  I had paint spatter covering newly installed railings at my front walkway, stains applied incorrectly on wood lattice which they installed (numerous empty areas - should have used a spray gun for that or painted it before installation), totally ruined my exterior balcony door with using too thick a layer of paint on it.  There were paint brush hairs all over the door as well, paint on screens (why they weren't removed or covered is beyond me), spattered paint on a custom mailbox, and the same on our house number plaque.
There is more, but I'll just leave it at it was an extremely sloppy job which took literally WEEKS to complete and I was told it would take less than 1 week.
While there were some circumstances that made the job take longer (some weather related and some of his workers having personal problems), the amount of errors exceeded what would be considered excusable.
The only good thing I can say is that from far away, the house looks ok and, the owner Phil (others mention a different name, not sure why) tried to be as pleasant as possible throughout this.

"I was doing an attic job in someone's house and a guy broke the ceiling in the master bedroom. My manager found Toni online, he was down there in the next hour. At first he was not able to do anything rite away, but after I explained him my client will not go to sleep untill the ceiling was closed, because they had a rodent problem in the attic, he quickly went to get the sheetrock and at least close it for the meantime which was very helpfull and much appreciated! He was also a true proffessianal to the homeowner and myself. Will defenitly recommend and will be using again for anything else we need done"

"1) Very responsive and clearly motivated to customer satisfaction. Of the three calls I placed for a bid, they were the fastest and most responsive to my request. They work on Sat's and are easily reachable. 2) Price - very reasonable 3) Quality of work - very detail orientated. We had a very difficult wallpaper to remove from the ceiling (yes, not sure whey people wall paper the ceiling) with alot of glue and they removed and made the surface very smooth. They prep the rooms very well, were very neat and tidy. The paint work was well done. 4) Over and beyond - my husband was trying to shovel 18" of snow off our front walkway. Andreas offered to bring their snowblower for us to use. They were very kind and did not have to offer but they did. Ultimately, it helped us dig our way of the snow!"

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

The pros of wallpaper include its durability and longer lifespan than paint, as well as its versatility. The durability can translate to lower long-term costs for upkeep and replacement, and the versatility means you have more options for customizing rooms in your home. Some downsides include that it’s difficult to remove, it’s not ideal for rooms or areas exposed to high moisture content or sun exposure, and it’s tricky to install. A professional wallpaper hanger can help mitigate these issues, though, by installing it properly and in areas suitable for wallpaper.

Wallpaper in bathrooms can last anywhere from one to 10 years, depending on what type was used, how well it was installed, and the measures in place to reduce moisture and humidity levels. Opting for a more durable variety and taking all the necessary protective measures will get you closer to that longer lifespan.

Removing a wallpaper border requires the same process to remove full walls of wallpaper. Clear the area, spray down the surface with your hot water and vinegar solution or store-bought spray, wait 10 to 15 minutes, then scrape it off with a putty knife. Sometimes, border wallpaper lifts easier than larger sheets, so you can just peel it right off the wall by hand.

One of the biggest downsides to peel-and-stick wallpaper is that it doesn't last as long as traditional wallpaper. Its lifespan depends on several factors, including the quality of the paper, proper wall preparation and application, and the room's conditions. As a general rule, peel-and-stick wallpaper can last for at least five years, but this can vary significantly. Budget products may only last about 3 years, while higher-quality products can stay up for 7 years or more in ideal conditions. Factors that can shorten its lifespan include high humidity (such as in a bathroom), dirty walls, and low-quality paper. If used on flooring, expect it to last only 1 to 3 years unless sealed. However, the shorter lifespan can be seen as a positive, making it a great choice for people who enjoy switching up their interiors more frequently.

If you’re installing new wallpaper and have leftover glue, you can remove unused wallpaper paste from the bucket or pan it’s in by letting it dry. If it’s an oil-based paste, seal it in a plastic bag and throw it in the garbage. Otherwise, toss the leftover wallpaper paste in the trash. Although it’s water-soluble, don’t rinse unused wallpaper paste down the sink because it could dry in the pipes and cause a blockage.
