"Windows are good. Work was sloppy. Still finding shards of glass on the floor and the furniture a week after completion. Caulking looks like a third grader did it- including caulking the screen door to the frame. For this type of investment, they should act like professionals."

"They did a Great job choosing correct sliding door needed. Forwarded the exact sliding screen door info needed so I could order it and when it came in he picked it up and brought to home to install. Also cleaned the area. He got here the day after I was advised the door was ready for pickup. I trusted him right from the outset; very nice very professional I would highly recommend you add them to your contact as your Handiman for your future projects."

"I ordered windows for the kitchen, bathroom, office and rec room in the basement. I'm very satisfied with the outcome of how these new windows make my rooms look and feel: modern, neat, and properly insulated. Not only do they look great, the rooms feel more comfortable, due to the insulation keeping the warm air in, and the cold air out during those harsh winters. The boiler in the basement doesn't need to run as much because of it. The pros hired to do the project were very professional, respectful, and on schedule. I have some more windows in my house that needs replacement, and now I know which company to choose for the job. Will hire again, worth the investment!"

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Options include tempered, laminated, and tinted glass for various needs.

The methods outlined here are intended for surface scratches—ones that don’t cut into the glass very deeply. For deep scratches, you should consider a more comprehensive glass scratch repair kit. These kits come with abrasives, polishing compounds, and specialized tools designed for removing deep scratches from glass. If you feel uncomfortable tackling a deep scratch on your own, consider calling a local glass repair contractor.

You don’t want to put anything on top of your mirror when you move it. You also want to limit the possibility that something heavy will fall on the glass and shatter it. For this reason, it’s not a good idea to lay a mirror flat in the moving truck.

There’s no exact formula to calculate the cost of your mirror, but a few guidelines will help you estimate the price tag you can expect. The bigger the mirror, the higher the cost—and the same goes for thickness. Customizations will largely depend on the labor required, so think about how long your design will take and multiply that by your contractor’s hourly rate.

The cost to remove a mirrored wall from your home ranges between $100 and $3,300, though the average price is only $500. You can save money by doing it yourself, but make sure you have safety equipment such as goggles and gloves, as well as the proper tools (drywall knife, wire saw, and a plastic sheet or tarp to cover the floor).
