"Harvey and his team did a great job, everything looks great now and is properly installed. They were on time and completed on time and cleaned up after themselves. Harvey fixed work that was very badly done by another contractor."

Customers say: True professional

"Robert and his team were amazing. I had a new door installed leading to a bedroom and some bathroom repairs done. Robert called me personally to schedule an appointment, which took place only a few days later. Pricing was fair. His workers were on time and if they were running over on a job, Robert called to inform me. How is that for customer service! From install to clean up, everything was done the right way. I would highly recommend. I will be contacting Q&R soon for additional projects."

"Very professional, arrived on time, completed EV charger installation per code, and submitted required permits to township. Even township gave hard time requiring additional documentation, Mike resubmitted paperwork and got permits approved. Highly recommended."

"On my initial call, Damian informed me that he was too busy to do my ramp project, but he directed me to the best way to proceed with my project; he specifically described the names of several prefab ramp companies he found using Google; I called him before placing an order on-line to run it by him, and he took the time to verify that it seemed reasonable; later, when I took measurements for my order, I realized that I made a major error; that an area where I had my garbage pails enclosed, was in the way; after I explained my error to the parts' service representative, my order was put on-hold and she asked for me to fax her a diagram (that included measurements); by that time, Damian told me that his job will probably be done, so that he would then be able to install the ramp; I felt more comfortable with Damian taking care of the diagram and measurements, and he came and told me the best way to complete the job, and took care of getting the information to customer service; he did not name a price for coming here to do this, and he seemed satisfied with the gratuity I gave him; the job was professionally done, with minimally opening of the deck at the stairs; the price was not discussed before or during the job, as I was willing to pay almost anything to allow for some mobility for my wife; when we settled up after the job was completed, I was given the necessary additional parts receipts for what he laid out, and his bill for labor was only slightly more than half of what I was prepared to pay; thank you so much Damian & Dan, excellent workers for a very fair price."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Depending on who’s doing the estimating, about 22,000 to 25,000 chimney fires happen each year in the United States. Given the fact that millions of Americans have fireplaces (and chimneys), that means chimney fires aren’t exactly common—but they’re not rare, either. Since they’re so dangerous, it’s important to take precautions to prevent them.

Absolutely! Smoke alarms are lifesavers. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), per 1,000 reported home fires, homes without working smoke alarms have a death rate nearly twice as high as those that do have working alarms. So remember to ensure you have enough installed in your home and that they are working and in good shape.

Yes, a dead outlet can be dangerous and may cause a fire. The lack of power can be due to a hazardous electrical issue that poses a fire risk. If you notice a burning smell, discoloration, or sparks from a non-working outlet, it is a serious issue. It is vital to have a professional electrician investigate and fix the problem as soon as possible.

Concrete homes have better fire resistance because this material is highly resistant to fire and heat. But any paint, siding, windows, roofing, or other materials on a concrete home may still be flammable. Never try to stay in a building with a large, active fire or a wildfire approaching because this can still be deadly. However, building a fireproof home with concrete can better protect the structure against total destruction.

Yes, a faulty or broken light switch can be a serious fire hazard. Malfunctioning switches often result from loose wiring, exposed connections, or other electrical problems that can cause overheating or sparking. Warning signs include crackling, popping, or hissing sounds when you flip the switch, which indicates live electricity that could ignite nearby flammable materials. If you suspect your light switch is faulty, immediately turn off the power at the circuit breaker and contact a qualified electrician to remedy the issue.
