"Having first used Paul Wylam for a plumbing issue was about 11 years ago . He was a one man show with a pick up truck . With his quality work and his competitive pricing his business bloomed . Over the years Proficient Plumbing was the one I called . As his business grew from a pick up to a 3 Truck operation Paul has employed only those who are capable and perform quality works Many businesses who expand lose the personal touch not proficient Plumbing it maintains it*s punctuality, Great work ,and competitive pricing .As I have in the past and will continue in the future will recommend Proficient Plumbing to all my Family, Friends and clients NEED A PLUMBER CALL PROFICIENT PLUMBINGH"

"I found Blase to be amiable, courteous, attentive and sincere when he gave me an estimate for the services needed. He took the time to explain things to me and to answer all of my questions. On the day of installation, both he and Pat treated me and my home with respect. After I had approved the work and they left, I discovered a small defect in the toilet seat. Blase came back first thing the very next morning to replace it with another new one."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Ensuring your toilet will fit starts with measuring the rough-in, but there are a few other factors to consider. The toilet tank's height and the toilet's depth should fit comfortably within the bathroom’s current setup. When considering depth, look at the walking space around the toilet to ensure it fits in the bathroom.

The toilet should rest 10, 12, or 14 inches from the back wall. As for other clearances, 15 inches is the minimum distance from the flange to any side wall or nearby fixture, including the shower, tub, and sink. Modern codes also require at least 24 inches of clear space in front of the toilet.

If you notice water leaking down the side of the bowl or tank and you don’t notice any cracks in the porcelain, the odds are that it’s condensation. If you notice water around the base of the toilet, this points to a leak. Check for loose bolts. A sewage odor may also indicate a broken toilet flange.

Yes, a toilet, sink, and shower can share the same vent. This is a common installation method that can simplify plumbing and save space. However, there are important considerations. The vent and associated plumbing must be large enough to handle the demands of all fixtures without compromising the vent's effectiveness. Additionally, the toilet should always be located downstream of all other fixtures. Because requirements can vary and space might be limited, it is essential to check your local building and plumbing codes and consult with a qualified plumber to ensure the installation is done correctly.

Yes, you should caulk a toilet to the floor for several reasons. Bathrooms are constantly wet—and if water splashes out of your shower and collects on your floor, you don’t want it seeping underneath your toilet, where it could potentially cause damage. Plus, caulk adds stability and helps prevent your toilet from wobbling.
