"My wife found Bathroom and Kitchen King on Angi's. We asked for an estimate based on the positive reviews. I know you can't always trust reviews, but I have to say, those reviews were spot on. Harry came out and listened to what we were looking for and then suggested some ideas that we hadn't considered. All the pricing was upfront. They considered keeping my house in order while they worked. They paid attention to the little details. Harry's tile guy is spot on! I was able to text him and received a response in a timely manner. We're very pleased with the job, quality, and service. We will use Bathroom and Kitchen King again."

"Initially, I thought that the price was a little high, but after we saw the quality of the work performed, I had no complaints. Derek and crew spent substantial time prepping the ceiling and walls and the excellent results showed it.  Great care was taken to cover furniture and rugs.  Derek was very professional and a pleasure to work with.  I would definitely use him again and would recommend him to others.

"I called Gleason to request an estimate on doing drywall and woodwork in a small bedroom in my house.  I left a message and Darrell returned my call the same day.  He was very pleasant and courteous on the phone and we set up an appointment for them to come look at the room two days later.  Aziz showed up right on time to look at the room.  He was also very pleasant to deal with, and he gave me a very honest assessment of the situation, pointing out that based on the current state of the walls (paneling over wallpaper over plaster) he was guessing that taking down the paneling might be opening a can of worms that I could be sorry we opened.  I was really appreciative of the fact that Aziz seemed more concerned with giving me the best advice than he was with getting the job!  I would definitely call Gleason again if and when I need similar work done in my house.  Thanks guys!"

"We bought our home a year ago, got pregnant, and had our nursery painted professionally in November with low VOC Benjamin Moore paint. Afterwards, the room smelled horrible, nothing got rid of it, even two coats of Kilz. We called JA drywall after deciding this was our only option, and since BM took no responsibility, cost and quality were high priorities. We talked to Juan who explained that he had seen this before, it was nice to confirm we weren't going crazy. His team worked quickly and had the room torn out and new walls and ceiling replaced in the same day. Spackle took a few days due to the humidity, but the room turned out amazing. Thanks Juan, we are so happy with your work. We look forward to working with you again soon.

Greenhouses and Nurseries questions, answered by experts

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

Minor fixes like patching leaks or repainting are DIY-friendly, but structural repairs require professional expertise.

Adding burnt charcoal to your garden beds and plant pots can yield several benefits, but there are risks involved, too. Charcoal, particularly biochar, can enhance soil structure, improve water drainage, and increase nutrient retention. When activated, charcoal provides key nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, burnt charcoal, especially from briquettes, can inadvertently alter soil's pH levels and become hazardous to plants. Overall, there are better and less risky soil amendments available, such as vermiculite, perlite, or wood chips.

Eco-friendly materials include sustainably-sourced woods, recycled metals, low-VOC paints, and non-toxic sealants, which reduce environmental impact. Using these in repairs promotes sustainability and can improve indoor air quality and overall building health.

The quickest way you can protect plants and trees from frost is to cover them with garden blankets or frost cloths. Also, bringing potted plants or trees indoors is much simpler than trying to cover and protect them outdoors. Remember to anchor blankets with something such as sandbags, fabric pins, or rocks if the forecast calls for strong winds to keep them from blowing away and exposing your trees and plants.
