Small jobs welcome

"Finding a Drywall installer for my project was the hardest part of the whole job, several no response or follow ups. Through Angi I got in contact with AR Drywall. Adrian showed up promptly for our walkthrough appointment and provided me a resonable estimate for the work to be performed. Upon start, we had some misunderstanding on what type of sheetrock we needed in a flood zone, but Adrian had it rectified within hours. The installation and finishing went very quickly, his crew was very efficient. After our final walkthrough, my husband and I found a couple missed spots, and Adrian himself came back twice to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. I would absolutely hire again."

"Benny arrived when he said he would and worked to keep pace with his timeline. He would arrive at 9 and not leave till 7 if that’s what needed to be done. He installed drywall and redid electrical work and did a wonderful job. Finished it off by painting, which was great as well. Overall happy with the work done. Don’t mind the doors, window, or rug in the pictures. They’re being redone as well."

"Had a few patches in drywall that needed repairing due to a leak in my house. Heard from them almost immediately after putting in a request. Communication back-and-forth was fantastic. The work was done and completed neatly in a timely fashion. Everything done as I needed it to be. I would recommend 10 times out of 10 to anybody that needs some drywall work done."

"Anthony Nastasi, hired by me to rebuild our decaying bay window, did a terrific job. When he came out to survey our prospective job, he listened closely to what we wanted, took notes, did measurements, and made suggestions. Later that day he sent my a proposal, detailing the materials and total cost of the project. Ultimately, the final cost was only about $300 more as additional material was needed. Mr. Nastasi worked a full day each day he was here. He also was honest and direct - he told me when he would arrive in morning, and he did. He told me when he had to complete another job so he might have to leave early or miss a day. Many Subs aren't professional enough to simply tell the truth. He always did. I am extremely happy with the quality of the work he did, the time frame in which he completed the job and, most importantly, how it looks. I would unequivocally recommend Anthony Nastasi to anyone. "We hired Heartland Village General Contracting and Handyman Services to execute a full, top-to-bottom renovation of our bathroom at the beginning of March of 2026. This was a major project involving demolition , new flooring, updated electrical and plumbing to accommodate a new layout of the bathroom. The company manager/owner, Harvey, was excellent. He provided a detailed project schedule before work began and proactively communicated every step of the way. The quality of the final product exceeded our expectations. Harvey's attention to detail truly made the difference."

"On behalf of the family, we would like to thank M&J Home Services for the beautiful bathroom renovation they completed in our home. Jeff designed and remodeled a bathroom thatâ s completely updated now. The shower has all the bells and whistles! His motto â Whatever you want done, we can do it for youâ is absolutely true. His skill set is unmatched. A linen closet enhances what was originally there. He is a master of all trades and was able to refinish the deck too. We are grateful to Jeff and Milena for their hard work and perseverance in completing the job in a very professional way. They are trustworthy and respectful of the property they are working on at all times."

"We needed to remove old Popcorn Ceilings from our entire house. We also needed to remove wallpaper and paint one room. We got a few estimates from different businesses. â On The Job Paintingâ sâ price was on the medium to lower end but most of all, we were impressed with the owner, Keith. He responded to us right away and gave us an estimate. He seemed very informative and trustworthy. We decided to go with â On The Job Paintingâ and we couldnâ t be happier. The crew was on time and prepared everything really well. They cleaned up everyday and worked with us about what rooms to do to make our lives easier while we were still living in the house during this process. My wife and I would highly recommend this business to anyone. I would not hesitate to hire them again for my next project."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Whether you can reuse a drywall anchor depends on its type, material, and how it is removed. Plastic anchors, such as expansion or self-drilling types, are generally considered single-use because they are designed to expand and are likely to break or become deformed upon removal. Metal anchors, like toggle bolts, are more durable and can often be reused if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle mechanism can fall inside the wall when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged or must be cut for removal, it cannot be reused regardless of its material.

Knowing what causes drywall damage can help stop it before it starts. Here are some of the most common causes of drywall damage:

  • Water damage from roof leaks or leaky pipes.

  • Small holes caused by doorknobs, minor accidents, and rodent infestations.

  • Wall dents stemming from moving furniture and minor accidents.

  • Wall cracks that form from a settling foundation or seismic activity.

  • Nail pops from nails and screws in the walls.

  • Large holes that are caused by accidents with heavy objects, children and pets, or sporting equipment.

The age of your home can clue you in to whether you have plaster or drywall ceilings. Homes built after the ‘70s are more likely to have drywall ceilings and walls, while older homes have plaster. You can also do the pushpin test: A pushpin will go into drywall, whereas it’s much harder to push one into a plaster wall. If you’re still unsure, ask a drywall professional to let you know which type of ceilings and walls you have.

All plaster walls will crack over time due to normal house settling and expansion and contraction from temperature and moisture changes. Small, thin hairline cracks are generally not serious and are mostly a cosmetic issue. However, larger or more significant cracks can indicate structural problems.

Here's how to tell the difference:

  • Cosmetic Cracks: Cracks that are 0.5 cm (0.2 inches) or thinner are typically cosmetic.

  • Structural Cracks: Cracks wider than 0.5 cm, excessive or deep cracks, multiple cracks in the same area, or cracks that span around corners can signify a structural or foundation issue. Cracks along the joints where walls meet the ceiling also warrant attention.

For cracks wider than 0.5 cm, structural repair is needed. If a crack is 2.5 cm (1 inch) or wider, or if you notice any signs of a structural problem, it is best to contact a plaster repair professional to assess the damage.

There are several benefits to wet-sanding drywall, but the main perk is that it produces far less dust than dry-sanding. As a result, wet-sanding poses fewer health risks and makes less of a mess in your home. Plus, damp sponges are less abrasive than sandpaper, so there’s a smaller chance of scratching or damaging the drywall paper. Wet-sanding also creates a smoother finish than dry-sanding.
