"Truly the best moving experience I’ve ever had! Yams and his team made everything as seamless as possible. What would’ve been an incredibly long and painful move to do ourselves was so pleasant, easy and efficient with Vela movers! 10/10 would recommend!!!"

"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

Small jobs welcome

"I wanted to highly recommend this company for any moving needs you may have now or in the future. Let me share our experience with you. Both gentlemen were very polite and professional, and most of all on time. The care they took with the furniture we had them move was outstanding. They wrapped the furniture with moving blankets and put tape around so that No damage would happen. It was the best moving experience for us and will definitely call them with the next move. Thank you so much Bob & Carole Campbell"

"From the initial phone call to the actual move everything was as smooth as possible. On moving day the truck and laborers showed up at the scheduled time and the move went as planned. My daughter has used Century Moving Services twice in the past and has recommended them to her friends."

Moving questions, answered by experts

Choosing a reliable moving company is critical because you’re entrusting all of your belongings to the professional movers, so you’ll want to make sure you consider the following:

  • The experience of the movers and the number of years in the industry

  • The add-on services provided, like packing and storage

  • The warranty or insurance coverage to protect your belongings

We also recommend confirming that the movers are properly licensed using Angi’s state licensing tool. You can check for certification from organizations like the American Moving and Storage Association.

Yes, it is cheaper to move yourself than to hire professional movers. The average DIY move costs $120 to $2,300, while professionals cost $890 to $2,570 on average or up to $12,000 for the longest distances. While you’ll save on the cost of professional labor with a DIY move, you’ll spend more time and energy packing, loading, transporting, unloading, and unpacking.

A house may need to be moved due to land redevelopment, to avoid demolition, to preserve a historic structure, to adapt to zoning changes, or to relocate to a safer or more desirable location because of climate change.

You can lay a refrigerator down to move it with a lot of padding underneath, but it’s best to transport it upright to keep the cooling refrigerant and compressor oil in place. These elements can cause blockages if not given time to settle before turning the fridge on.

If you need to lay the fridge down to move it, position the fridge door hinges so that doors won’t open while moving.

Yes, it’s possible, but it’s important to be extremely careful, and always remove rocks and heavier hardscape items. Drain all the water from the tank, leaving just enough to keep the gravel slightly submerged to keep your bacteria alive. Then, grab a helper or two and carefully lift the tank from either side, supporting the bottom and keeping it level. If the tank is especially heavy, consider slipping plywood underneath to minimize pressure on the glass. Be sure to pack it so it stays level and doesn’t shift during transit.
