"What a great experience with this moving service. I hired First-Rate Moving & Storage on a long distance move and they did a fantastic job. Everything went so smooth and I didn't expect that. In short it was a best moving experience I have ever had and I would highly recommend this company!"

"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

Small jobs welcome

"I wanted to highly recommend this company for any moving needs you may have now or in the future. Let me share our experience with you. Both gentlemen were very polite and professional, and most of all on time. The care they took with the furniture we had them move was outstanding. They wrapped the furniture with moving blankets and put tape around so that No damage would happen. It was the best moving experience for us and will definitely call them with the next move. Thank you so much Bob & Carole Campbell"

"From the initial phone call to the actual move everything was as smooth as possible. On moving day the truck and laborers showed up at the scheduled time and the move went as planned. My daughter has used Century Moving Services twice in the past and has recommended them to her friends."

Moving questions, answered by experts

To pack mugs securely for a move, start by lining the bottom of a moving box with padded packing material like bubble wrap. Wrap each mug individually, tucking the ends of the bubble wrap inside the mug for a snug fit. For extra protection, consider using a moving box with built-in slots to keep the mugs separated.

When placing the mugs in the box, pack them tightly enough to prevent them from shifting, but not so tightly that they are under pressure. Fill any empty gaps between the mugs with additional packing material. To keep the box from becoming too heavy, it's best to pack no more than 10 mugs per box. Finally, be sure to label the box as “fragile” so movers know to handle it with care.

Depending on the type of expense, it is possible to deduct moving costs on your taxes. For example, you can deduct for packing, crating, insurance, in-transit storage, and using a trailer. However, you cannot deduct expenses such as moving furniture, security deposits, and home buying and selling expenses.

Focus on decluttering when downsizing to move cross-country. Selling, donating, or recycling unwanted items early in your moving process is key to your success. If you are on the fence about some items, consider storage options, or you can ship these items separately to lessen your load.

The maximum size of a tiny home you can move depends on your state transportation guidelines, but the rule of thumb is a maximum of 400 square feet. However, as long as it falls within the local limits for traveling on public roadways, you should be good to hit the road.

You can move a pool table without taking it apart only if you’re moving it a short distance, like from one room to another, and with the help of several people or a professional moving company. But if you’re moving the pool table from one home to another, experts strongly advise you not to move it without taking it apart. If you leave it in one piece, you could risk not only your own personal safety, but also risk damage to the pool table itself. The bumpers could need to be realigned and the slate may have to be re-leveled if you try to move a pool table without taking it apart. In this case, the risk usually doesn’t outweigh the reward.
