"Angie’s list has Valairco listed as #1 in my area for home HVAC and my 30 year old York R-22 central ac has been leaking for a while. I had Valairco give me a quote to replace the air handler, and the outside compressor, condenser unit with a new unit that uses the new R410a Freon. The estimate seemed a bit high but I was surprised that I wasn’t offered any refund for whatever R-22 they reclaimed from my old system. I started entertaining other quotes when I received an e-mail from Valairco. I responded and explained my disappointment for not being offered something for the reclaimed R-22. I got a phone call shortly after that and was told if I could have it installed the following Friday they would reduce the price by $250.00. I agreed to have them install it. The day prior to installation a plumbing supply truck arrives in front of my home. The driver unloads all the parts for the job in the pouring down rain. I thought it was odd not to alert me since some items would not be helped by a good soaking. I put those inside. It turned out that the plumbing supply delivered a day earlier than instructed. The installers arrived on 7:00 am on Friday. They started disassembling the old system. Two more men from Valairco arrived. It was decided that it was easiest to remove the attic ladder to make room to lift the new air handler into place. As soon as it was up the two additional guys left and for the next 9 1/2 hours the two installers worked in the attic and outdoors to finish the installation. Overall I am pleased with the competence of the installers. I am also pleased with how well they cleaned everything up after they were finished. The new raceway looks better and the thermostat has Automatic Changeover and Adaptive Intelligent Recovery which are nice features. They also do the first year preventative maintenance at no additional cost. The price was exactly what they had quoted. No taxes or hidden costs were added. I was not pleased with a few things. Valairco is poor at communicating. I was told that it would be a two day install at time of quote but they completed it in one marathon day. The installers changed the orientation of the air handler to make it easier to service. It isn’t an issue but it would have been nice to be asked. What if I wanted it that way for storage? My attic ladder was reinstalled with 5 bolts when it is drilled for 6. Maybe one was missing before they started or maybe they lost one. Either way they left it with 5 and did not tell me. The installers relocated the hole where the lines exit the attic through the soffit and patched the unused area with a piece of galvanized steel because they didn’t have any white aluminum on their truck. Not only did it look bad but when you screw unlike metals together you start a corrosive process. I’ was not looking forward to seeing rust stains running down the side of my house. The attic routing of the copper and electric lines are hanging in midair and looks sloppy and amateur. Only one clamp holds it to a joist and it only has one screw. The rest of it hangs 6” below the joists for no reason and creates an unnecessary obstacle. Valairco did not know that I was displeased right away. After reading my initial review here, Richard Valenti, Valairco founder, personally calls me. I did not realize that they normally do their follow up a month after completion, in order to give the customer time to use the unit under a number of weather conditions. He sent Kevin back with the installers to make me happy. They fixed the soffit with a new piece of aluminum. They put anew bolt in the attic ladder. They put a strap hanger on the lines. Kevin offered to come back after cooling season to replace the lines if I am still not happy with them. I asked him if he would have done the installation the way his installers did and if he found the installation satisfactory. Kevin did not answer. It was obvious they returned to satisfy me whether my expectations were valid or not. I am pleased that they returned and I can say that customer satisfaction is important to them."

"I'm very happy with the work performed by this company plus the technician explained to me in detail of the work he was going to do as well as the correct way the dryer vent should have been installed before as the the exhaust vent was connected to the lower vent instead of the higher vent, saying that connecting it to the higher vent gave it more room for the lint to collect before it started clogging up the exhaust. The air duct cleaning was also conducted professionally and I have no complaint about their work. I would hire them again the next time my heating and cooling ducts needs cleaning. I'd recommend them to my friends."

The selection process I followed before hiring Dun Rite included an investigation of the AC units I wanted to purchase, cost estimates of components the vendor would need for the installation, 3 bid process with reputable vendors, reference checks, and confirmation of insurance coverage. Initial meeting: My initial meeting with Peter went very well. He spent time explaining the best way to approach my project and what his recommendations were to achieve the best results. He is very knowledgeable and confident. He was on time and professional. Pricing: Dun Rites initial pricing was very competitive. To be honest, no other contractor could come close to the pricing offered by Dun Rite for superior quality. Quality: Pete and his team did exceptional work even by my high standards. The work they performed was very impressive. The methods they use to install new ductwork could not compare to any of the other vendors I researched. Peter’s team installed no soffits or disrupted any closets. Larry and Larry, the installers that worked on my project, were very professional and demonstrated exceptional workmanship. Any issues that were discovered during the project were addressed in a timely manner. Comments / Observations: Peter is a very hard worker and takes on many responsibilities in running the business. He moves quickly to insure everything gets done, so you need to keep up. Texting him or calling him is much better than sending an email if you need an immediate response. He is always on the go. I only make or write recommendations for vendors that are exceptional and I can tell you, Dun Rite heating and cooling is one you can trust. I would use them again and recommend them to family and friends."
