Customers say: Quick response

"This was my first Tesla (Model Y) and needed to install the wall connector in my garage. That required running wires from my electric panel in the basement to my garage. In addition I wanted to future-proof to accommodate a second electric car (in future). Ryan was absolutely fantastic from very start to finish. He clearly understood my needs, suggested most appropriate solution/plan and executed the plan to perfection in a timely manner. Quality work at reasonable price. Ryan is a true professional who is quick to respond and a good person that you can trust. I highly recommend Ryan and can vouch for his work."

Emergency services offered

"Outstanding. Great customer service. Never had any issue. They listen well and take good care of the customer. One time after last Fall mainteanace we had a problem again unexpectely and they came back in a timely manner tofix the problem, way faster than local electric company, which I fired. I selected Frank to be my service man for my HVAC because, he is very professional, knows what he is doing and give him A+. I have also had a chance to speak to the managers or boss, Herb was very considerate and was kind to give me competetive rate(discount). That made me happy and will stay with them for all my home HVAC maintenance. service. If you're looking for highly competetive rates with superb job and great customer service, choose Arctic Air. I have had them for over 1 year now. I rarely give reviews, but I had to do this because, their service is one of the best if not the best! Keep it up! Overall grade:A+"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

A GFCI outlet can be 15A or 20A. The average American home power outlet is 15A.

If your thermostat does not have a C-wire, you can hire a professional to check for an abandoned C-wire hidden in the wall, install a new C-wire, repurpose an existing G-wire to function as a C-wire, or purchase a C-wire adapter kit.

There are some smart thermostat models that do not require a C-wire, but this will limit the functionality of the smart technology.

Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.

Yes, tamper-resistant outlets are a safe and effective way to protect children from electrical hazards. They feature a spring-loaded shutter that blocks the outlet slots when not in use, preventing a child from inserting foreign objects. While they are the safest option available, it's important to note that few things can be considered truly 'childproof.' Children may still try to imitate adults by inserting a plug, so constant supervision around any electrical device is recommended. Tamper-resistant outlets are a much safer solution than childproofing covers, which can be removed by children and may pose a choking hazard.

It's less expensive to run power overhead because it doesn’t require excavation, and the power cables are less costly. However, underground electric service is better protected from weather and general wear and tear, so it’s less likely to get damaged. When determining which way to run power, consult a local electrician to get an expect opinion.
