"I was suffering from repeated high water alarms in my septic tank. The company knew the issue with my septic system on the phone from experience of similar problems it was blocked laterals of the leach field. They were able to fix the problem for a reasonable cost in a day all compliant with the township. They were 5 times cheaper than another company suggested for the repair. They were able to jet the laterals whereas the other company quoted to replace the entire leachfield laterals. Would recommend any one with problems with pressurized septic system to contact this company first."

"In needed a 1,000 gallon buried propane tank removed. It had been buried under a flower bed (and next to a 40â  tree) for over 15 years. Dave came, gave me a clear understanding of what he would do, and just as importantly, how he would do it. He laid out the plan for protecting my trees and not damaging my fencing. On â  project dayâ  Dave arrived on time with a great team and executed his plan exactly as he described. By the time they left you couldnâ  t tell they had dug out a hole 20 x 8 x 12. Amazing job. I highly recommend Dave and his team."

"We have lived in Kingwood Township, Hunterdon County, NJ, for many years.  In fact, Mark was the excavator that dug the foundation for our home, 14 years ago.  Mark has done many projects for us over the years.  We would not think of using another excavator.  This year Mark installed a 6 box Peat Fiber Biofilter septic system in an 82' x 25' area of our rear yard. Much of the ground in Kingwood Township is shale and clay. Septic leach fields do not drain well.  Mark installed a new septic tank and a 2000 gal. septic dosing tank  that pumps septic liquid 500 FEET through 3" delivery pipe to the peat boxes in the rear of our yard.  This is relatively new technology.  Mark was very careful to assure everything was done correctly,  AND, unlike other contractors, Mark communicates closely with you. In order to bring the heavy equipment to the rear of our property, Mark created an access road made of crushed shale that leads to the large septic bed.
The price above includes:
6 ANUA Peat Fiber Boxes
2000 Gal Dosing Tank w/1.5 hp Goulds Effluent Pup
500' of 3" Pipe
Several Iron Tank Lids
Wiring to Home Circuit Breaker Box
Septic Sand & Stone & Fabric Cover
Crushed Shale Access Road
Extensive Excavation Work on the Disposal Bed, Septic Tanks and Pump, Access Road, Pipe Line
Interface with Township Inspectors and County Board of Health Officials
York Raking, Seeding and Haying the Disturbed Area
One Year Maintenance Contract on the entire system

Mark is respected throughout the county, thorough, uses high quality materials, and does not stop until the job is COMPLETELY finished, to the point of assuring all final paperwork is provided to the various Township and County Offices. We cannot recommend Mark Hendrickson highly enough.  There was no risk involved in this large project.  We knew we could trust Mark, that the system would be installed perfectly, and with as little stress to us as possible."

"This is a grade A , top notch company. We had to replace the septic system in our house. I got many quotes for the job, some companies shyed away or didn't think they could handle it. Scott came in, we went over the design, and he tackled it with ease. Each day his crew started early, around 7am, was always on-time. They were the friendliest team, and explained what needed to be done each step of the way. They have the industrial tools, but they use them with incredible dexterity, as if it was an extension of their hands. The grading and seeding were all done and it is better than ever. I hope you never have to replace your septic system, but if you do, call J. Tomaro to do it. Excellent job guys. Thanks."

"This Company is by far the Best septic service company I have ever dealt with. Susan responded to my call and she was friendly, helpful and accommodating considering I needed the pump out taken care of on the same day, a Saturday. She understood my urgency and made it happen. The gentleman that performed the pump out was excellent. Friendly, polite, professional, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the work he had to do. I highly recommend everyone contacting Atlantic & Sewe, Inc. for your septic needs."

"Matthew is the most knowledgeable plumber that I have met. He truly cares about doing right by his clients and making sure that all issues are resolved entirely. After the heater had been replaced he came in to ensure all faucets were working correctly and stayed until he was confident that they were and even looked into an unrelated issue with our toilet that he noticed and fixed for us. Matthew went above and beyond what the job required and tremendously exceeded our expectations. I will recommend Matthew and Grade A Plumbing to all of my friends and family, as I trust they will be in the best hands."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

Normally, when your well pump turns on or off, you’ll hear a small click. This isn’t anything to worry about, but it can be a problem if it’s clicking continuously. This can indicate that the well pump is short cycling—the pump continuously turns on and off.

This can wear out the motor and provide uneven water flow. If this happens, you may need to get it looked at by a well pump professional to see if you need to repair the switch or pump.

A septic tank with a 1,500-gallon capacity is good for larger homes with up to 6 or 7 bedrooms. The average home can go with a smaller tank, about 1,000 gallons, which supports a home size of up to 2,500 square feet, or a home with about three bedrooms.

Septic systems typically require servicing every 3-5 years, but frequency varies according to household size and tank capacity.

You can cover a septic tank riser with dirt, but it’s not always the best idea. If you have a plastic riser and you bury it, you can easily lose track of it since you won’t be able to find it with a metal detector. Make sure to clearly note where your rise is in your yard so that you’re able to access it easily the next time you or a septic pro needs it. Don’t bury the cover too deep or you could place too much stress on it and make it too difficult to access in the future.

Your septic tank naturally contains the beneficial bacteria it needs to function, so you typically don't need to add more. However, if you wish to replenish the bacteria, you can use natural methods. For example, you can add three overripe tomatoes to your garbage disposal or flush 1/4 ounce of active yeast down the toilet every three months. While store-bought septic enzymes and chemicals are available, many experts consider them unnecessary and potentially harmful. The most effective way to maintain a healthy bacteria population is to avoid using chemical drain cleaners, which can kill the good bacteria in your system.
