"The first time we used Bryan's service was for the rotting exterior window trim. The job was done to our satisfaction. The men were courteous and neat. The second time was to replace a toilet. Again, the men were courteous and neat. Based on these two experiences with Bryan's Handyman service we would recommend this business. We will be calling him again as needed."

"Excellent! I can't say enough good things about this project. We live in a 1920 Dutch Colonial, our walkway was falling apart. Miguel gave us samples to look at that would match our front Brick porch. The brickyard he sent us to allowed us to bring samples home to compare. He ordered what we wanted and within 4 days began the project. He came early in the morning and stayed well into the evening and completed the job in 2 days from demolition and removal of the old walk to the installation of the new one. He seeded the lawn that edged it. We selected him because he a patio and driveway and walkway for our nextdoor neighbors. We've lived here since 1974 and people trust the contractors we use. We highly recommend him and we always like to hire local owner operated businesses. For an additional fee he planted 2 trees in the front of the house. We are very satisfied."

"We were schedule to have work done by another provider the week of the 28th and the Sunday night before the job was to start, the person bailed on the job. I was distraught as I'm pregnant and we needed the work done during this one week we had taken off from work, especially since the one room is to be the nursery.
I called nearly 10 people before Juan because he was the farthest distance, but I took a chance and am very lucky I did! He called me back within the hour, we talked, I sent an email and some pictures, and what our original provider said would take a week took Juan and his two men a mere TWO DAYS.
He arrived exactly when he said he would, his workers were really friendly and respectful of my home/belongings leaving it cleaner than it had been before they started which is hard task when you're dealing with sanding dust. You can tell that he cares about his clients, their homes, and the work that his team does.
His price was extremely fair and the work gorgeous. He gave me advice on other work that I wanted done and we'll be using him again soon in the future.  He's truly a kind man with an amazing work ethic and team. I'm thrilled we used him and am actually looking forward to the other work we have to do because I know it will be done right.

Greenhouses and Nurseries questions, answered by experts

Adding burnt charcoal to your garden beds and plant pots can yield several benefits, but there are risks involved, too. Charcoal, particularly biochar, can enhance soil structure, improve water drainage, and increase nutrient retention. When activated, charcoal provides key nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, burnt charcoal, especially from briquettes, can inadvertently alter soil's pH levels and become hazardous to plants. Overall, there are better and less risky soil amendments available, such as vermiculite, perlite, or wood chips.

Eco-friendly materials include sustainably-sourced woods, recycled metals, low-VOC paints, and non-toxic sealants, which reduce environmental impact. Using these in repairs promotes sustainability and can improve indoor air quality and overall building health.

Minor fixes like patching leaks or repainting are DIY-friendly, but structural repairs require professional expertise.

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

The quickest way you can protect plants and trees from frost is to cover them with garden blankets or frost cloths. Also, bringing potted plants or trees indoors is much simpler than trying to cover and protect them outdoors. Remember to anchor blankets with something such as sandbags, fabric pins, or rocks if the forecast calls for strong winds to keep them from blowing away and exposing your trees and plants.
