"John from Green Home Solutions was extremely professional, responsive, and timely. They made the entire process seamless - from the initial call asking them to test for mold to remediating it. We had mold in our attic and basement and John and his colleague made both spaces look brand new. We had someone up in our attic a few days after John completed the work and they asked if we just replaced all the wood as it looked new!! I could not recommend this company enough."

"I called George for a quote ,and he came to give a quote the same day. George ,and his team did an excellent job remediating the mold in my basement. The workers were courteous, professional, and hard working. George said that they would begin on a Tuesday ,and be done by Friday ,and thats exactly how it went. In addition to remediating the mold, they removed the ceiling sheetrock in 3 rooms. The cleanup and removal of the sheetrock was seemless. George worked hand in hand with my insurance company , and we were able to get reimbursed for the whole project. I would highly recommend AMS Restoration/ American Mold Solutons to anyone in need of mold removal."

"I needed to have a mold issue addressed in my condo which had developed due to a leak in the roof. I contacted Aerotek Environmental having received their contact details from Angi Ads. From my first contact with Brandon of Aerotek Environmental he was the most helpful of all that I had spoken to about my issue. In addition to giving a reasonable cost estimate, Brandon took the time to carefully explain the step by step remediation process that his company would provide which included digital photos before, during and on completion of work. Having decided to use Aerotech the process ran very smoothly from setting the schedule date through the actual work and payment for services. Communication with Brandon was excellent - If I called or sent a text Brandon would either promptly answer or respond in a very short time. On the scheduled day, Felix Castro (job foreman) and his team arrived on time. Felix explained in detail exactly what he and his team would be doing. On completion of the work, Felix ensured that all debris was removed and provided full details as to what had been done and what he and his team found to be the most likely area of the leak. I am very satisfied with the entire process of working with Brandon who along with Felix and his team provided excellent customer service and would not hesitate to call in again should the need arise. I would highly recommend Brian and Aerotek Environmental to anyone in need of mold remediation services"

"From the first discussion with owner, Rob Ky, I felt confident that Certified Mold Removal Inc. was the right company for the job at my residence. From the actual testing of the mold, air samples, and everything is between-they were very thorough and efficient. Each and every associate that I worked with was not only extremely professional but genuinely cared about rectifying the situation that myself and my family were dealing with. They quickly and efficiently remediated the mold that was in and under the flooring in my home. Tom and his crew went above and beyond to make sure that I understood the process and was satisfied with the end result, which was of course no more mold! This was more than just throwing bleach on the floor and calling it a day, they made sure that the mold was completely cleaned and removed from the floor so that my family could return to a safe and healthy home. They even went as far as to fog the house so that any remaining mold particles were removed from the air. Mold remediation is extremely stressful and while I hope that I never have to go through this again, I would absolutely go to Certified Mold Removal, Inc. Thank you again for all your help and guidance throughout this process! 10 star service!"

"July 2021, Monroe Twp, NJ: BUG BUST's Dan arrived on time and quickly analyzed my problem. Termites had eaten through a door step, causing mold and wood rot inside the back door. Ants were present as well. Non-toxically, he treated inside and outside the home, while explaining why it was happening, what to look out for and how to prevent the problem in the future, He spoke clearly, concisely and answered every question I gave him. Two days later, my bug problem is completely gone! He has a real down-to-earth presence, technical skill and is a great communicator. I give Dan, and BUG BUST, a hearty endorsement."

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

Yes, running your air conditioning unit too cold can cause condensation in the air ducts and built up moisture on the air filter, resulting in a breeding ground for mold and mildew. Mold and mildew growth can irritate those with respiratory issues, so it’s best to keep your AC running at a normal temperature.

Telling the difference between poisonous and nonpoisonous mushrooms is difficult even for trained mushroom experts and biologists! However, nature provides some red flags for poisonous mushrooms. Assume that any mushroom with a red cap or stem is poisonous. You should also assume mushrooms with white gills, rings, skirts, or a sack-like base are poisonous.

If you own a stereo microscope, you should be able to see the fibers. The stereo microscope often can perform magnification up to 50x. But unless you have experience viewing asbestos fibers, you may not know exactly what you are seeing. Some fibers are curly, while others are long and straight. Blue, brown, white, and gray colored fibers are all possible.

It’s unlikely your leaves are a hazard, especially if you get to them while they’re dry. However, a couple of rare risks exist. University studies suggest that decaying leaves can produce organochlorines, toxic pollutants similar to man-made PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls), so avoid keeping them in an enclosed area.

Also, leaves and compost may cause the growth of fungi that can cause diseases like histoplasmosis and aspergillosis, as well as mold spores that are unhealthy for human lungs. Again, severe issues are rare, but those with compromised immune systems or allergies to mold should wear face masks when directly handling leaves.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
