"John and Marvin were wonderful! They arrived on time and went right to work. They were professional and courteous and did a great job getting rid of lots of junk. It was a great relief when they finished, knowing that they were hauling away all that stuff I didn't need or want anymore. They honored the Angie's List discount and the job cost less than what was originally quoted. Would definitely hire again!"

"I needed a last minute junk removal company when I moved office locations on 5/28/26 and I chose Junk Take Away. I can't say enough good from the start to the end. It started with Kelly calling me to set up the date and time and was followed by Eddie and his buddy removing everything in a timely manner, they cleaned up after themselves and they were very respectful young men. I will definitely be using Eddie and his team again in the future."

Hauling questions, answered by experts

Parts of a mattress that can be recycled include the metal springs, wood frame, foam, and some fibers like cotton or wool that may be found in the fabric. Not all recycling centers accept mattresses, so call ahead. Alternatively, some mattress manufacturers take used mattresses for recycling.

Several types of items aren't allowed in roll-off dumpsters. First of all, hazardous materials and hazardous liquids are a no-go. This includes asbestos, oil, wet paint and other materials. Other banned items include batteries, electronics with lithium batteries, propane tanks, tires, and appliances with refrigerants. Some areas have shifting requirements (for instance, certain locations do not allow mattresses), so check with your local regulatory agency.

Products that are hazardous, such as aerosol sprays, top the list of what to leave behind during a move. Avoid packing perishables, garden and garage chemicals, pool supplies, compressed gases, and combustible items. If you are trying to move by yourself, you may want to downsize so you have fewer belongings to pack and move (and then unpack).

Yes, a mattress will fit in a 10-yard dumpster. While a 10-yard dumpster is a compact roll-off dumpster size, it can still hold about 60 standard trash bags or 5,000 pounds of waste. They're ideal for small demo or renovation projects, appliances or furniture, and yard waste.

Digging a bush up by the roots is the most natural DIY method for removing a bush stump. Start by identifying the shrub type and revealing its roots. Cut the shrub to its base and loosen the soil, ensuring no utility lines are nearby. Optionally, treat the base with herbicide, then dig around the roots and cut a circle around the shrub using various tools. Dig a trench, cut the base of the root ball, and finally fill the hole to prevent regrowth. This thorough process ensures complete removal without damaging surrounding areas.
