"I found Joe online and couldnâ t be happier. He was very responsive and gave us a set of options to address our issueâ which was that our discontinued ceramic tile in our kitchen was coming loose. He did a repair job to give us more time to find a new tile option. He was quick and neat with his work. And we will absolutely bring him back in for the full tile job when we are ready to do that."

Small jobs welcome

"We hired Brian to install tile around our bathtub/shower. We had attempted to do the job ourselves, but Brian was able to come in and fix what we had done and make it beautiful! He was on time and had everything he needed to start the job quickly. He put drop cloths down around my house so he would not track in any water because it was raining that day. He was friendly, fast, and left my bathroom looking better than when he came. I highly recommend Brian and will be telling my friends about him. Thank you, Brian! We love the job that you did!"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Porcelain countertops have a fairly long life span, sometimes lasting for decades. Depending on how much wear and tear you put your countertops through, it could last 25 to 50 years. But be warned, porcelain is also prone to cracking, so as long as you take good care of it, you’ll have those countertops looking brand new for years to come.

Penny tile should be sealed to protect the grout from moisture and keep stains from damaging the look of the tile. If penny tile is in a humid or high-traffic area, like a bathroom, kitchen, or entryway, it needs sealant. Any type of tile and grout is best maintained with a sealant reapplied by a pro every one to two years.

You can let the tile sit without grout. Don’t panic if there’s a delay between installing the tiles and grouting. A substantial stoppage isn't a problem, provided you keep the tile surface clear of dust and debris. Also, avoid walking over less stable ungrouted floor tiles as they are more prone to premature cracking and shifting.

Yes, provided you aren’t installing drywall over it. But you can skim coat it, apply new tile right on top, paint it, or stencil it. For more budget- and DIY-friendly options, you can install beadboard or apply decals. Just make sure that the current tiles are in good condition and prepped well for the paint or adhesive to stick.

The best bathroom floor tiles are strong enough to withstand the weight of a clawfoot tub. However, professional tile installation is essential. If the tiles are uneven or improperly fixed, they may crack under the pressure. Be careful when installing the tub—if it drops or drags on the tiles, it could easily cause scratches or cracks.
