"Sam was a great communicator through the whole project. The bathroom tile we had on our walls were really bad. Sam’s tile job was excellent. Very happy with the end result!"

"I found Joe online and couldnâ t be happier. He was very responsive and gave us a set of options to address our issueâ which was that our discontinued ceramic tile in our kitchen was coming loose. He did a repair job to give us more time to find a new tile option. He was quick and neat with his work. And we will absolutely bring him back in for the full tile job when we are ready to do that."

"Honest personable helpful quality work. John came to our house and rescued us from a contractor who had run away with our money and left us with a shell of a bathroom. His tile work was excellent in the shower and flooring. He installed a vanity and lights and gave us a beautiful bathroom, making our experience wonderful with him and allowed us to have confidence in contractors once again. He was reasonable every step of the way realizing he was the second person on the job and checked plumbing and electrical work ensuring that we would not have water between the walls or leaks in the ceiling. I'd recommend him at any point."

"He was very professional & my family was very pleased with how good the deck looked after he finished painting it. He also did a great job on the installation of a storm door going from my kitchen."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Professionals can enhance bathroom aesthetics by recommending and implementing design elements such as modern fixtures, high-quality tiles, and efficient layouts. They ensure cohesive style, compliment functionality, and an enhanced visual appeal in the space.

If you’re looking for a durable tile for a shower floor, consider porcelain, stone, or vinyl tiles. Each of these options, when installed correctly, will stand up well to everything from water and moisture to the impact from a dropped bottle of body wash. These materials are also easy to clean and maintain, making them popular options for shower floors.

The cost depends on the type of natural stone. High-end stones can cost as much as porcelain, but it depends on the specific material. For example, the cost of flagstone pavers is typically $2 to $6 per square foot, which is much more budget-friendly than porcelain. Outdoor slate tile can cost as much as $35 per square foot, which is about the same as porcelain.

The cost to install porcelain tile is about $1,930 on average. Porcelain tile prices range from $880 to $3,000 or more. The average cost tends to be higher than ceramic tile because porcelain tile is very durable. Porcelain tile rating also factors into the material cost. Tile ratings are as follows:

  • Grade 0: Walls only

  • Grade 1: Walls and light traffic floors

  • Grade 2: Rooms with light traffic, but not kitchens or hallways

  • Grade 3: Kitchens, hallways, and entryways

  • Grade 4: Any area, interior or exterior

  • Grade 5: Highest durability good for any area, interior or exterior

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all best tile for a dog shower. Consider your budget, tile durability, aesthetics, and, most importantly, practicality. Avoid tiles your dog will slide around on. Pebbles are a great non-slip option, but are pricey and tricky to install. Glass might look modern, but it’s not scratch-resistant. Small, floor-rated ceramic or porcelain tiles are economical and have many grout lines that make the surface more slip-resistant. Pick a matte finish rather than a shiny tile if you want it to hide stray mud and hairs better.
