"I am a attorney in Nutley, New Jersey. We had no air conditioning on the second floor of our commercial building yesterday. After our regular HVAC maintenance company claimed to be too busy, we researched an alternate and found excellent reviews for Challenger. Access to our roof AC system is a bit tricky. It was no problem for Jorge of Challenger. He easily navigated the approach and the scuttle. The AC was in tiptop share in less than an hour, portal to portal. "Our furnace failed on a rather cold day. We called Arctic Air Conditioning and they sent a technician the same morning. The system was ~30 year old, and we know we needed to replace. Once we confirmed that the furnace is not salvageable, they sent an advisor, Chris, to do the measurement and gave an estimate. Chris was able to arrange the installation in 2 days. The team came and completed the work as expected. The work was done in about 5 hours: removal of the old gas furnace & AC unit, installation of new units and new thermostat. They made sure we inspect their work, and showed us how the furnace works. The AC will need to be fully charged when the weather is warmer. A couple things to know is that the utility rebate is small and not worth taking into purchase decision. The Lennox thermostat works well, but the phone app does not work (rated extremely poorly on app store), so don't bother. We picked the better upgrade, which is reflected in the project cost."

"We had a complete system installed in a rental property. The condenser, coil and furnace were replaced. Hector and Dewey were very courteous and accommodating. They arrived on time, walked through the steps for the removal and installation. As they said up front, the installation would take a full days work. Though they ran into a few snags in getting the unit from the front of the house to the back; they took time and care in removing a door and ensuring it was reinstalled and working properly. By the time the job was completed they cleaned up the area and made sure the tenants understood how to run the thermostat. The next day they called to check on the status of the new unit and its operation. I would definitely use them again."

"Angie’s list has Valairco listed as #1 in my area for home HVAC and my 30 year old York R-22 central ac has been leaking for a while. I had Valairco give me a quote to replace the air handler, and the outside compressor, condenser unit with a new unit that uses the new R410a Freon. The estimate seemed a bit high but I was surprised that I wasn’t offered any refund for whatever R-22 they reclaimed from my old system. I started entertaining other quotes when I received an e-mail from Valairco. I responded and explained my disappointment for not being offered something for the reclaimed R-22. I got a phone call shortly after that and was told if I could have it installed the following Friday they would reduce the price by $250.00. I agreed to have them install it. The day prior to installation a plumbing supply truck arrives in front of my home. The driver unloads all the parts for the job in the pouring down rain. I thought it was odd not to alert me since some items would not be helped by a good soaking. I put those inside. It turned out that the plumbing supply delivered a day earlier than instructed. The installers arrived on 7:00 am on Friday. They started disassembling the old system. Two more men from Valairco arrived. It was decided that it was easiest to remove the attic ladder to make room to lift the new air handler into place. As soon as it was up the two additional guys left and for the next 9 1/2 hours the two installers worked in the attic and outdoors to finish the installation. Overall I am pleased with the competence of the installers. I am also pleased with how well they cleaned everything up after they were finished. The new raceway looks better and the thermostat has Automatic Changeover and Adaptive Intelligent Recovery which are nice features. They also do the first year preventative maintenance at no additional cost. The price was exactly what they had quoted. No taxes or hidden costs were added. I was not pleased with a few things. Valairco is poor at communicating. I was told that it would be a two day install at time of quote but they completed it in one marathon day. The installers changed the orientation of the air handler to make it easier to service. It isn’t an issue but it would have been nice to be asked. What if I wanted it that way for storage? My attic ladder was reinstalled with 5 bolts when it is drilled for 6. Maybe one was missing before they started or maybe they lost one. Either way they left it with 5 and did not tell me. The installers relocated the hole where the lines exit the attic through the soffit and patched the unused area with a piece of galvanized steel because they didn’t have any white aluminum on their truck. Not only did it look bad but when you screw unlike metals together you start a corrosive process. I’ was not looking forward to seeing rust stains running down the side of my house. The attic routing of the copper and electric lines are hanging in midair and looks sloppy and amateur. Only one clamp holds it to a joist and it only has one screw. The rest of it hangs 6” below the joists for no reason and creates an unnecessary obstacle. Valairco did not know that I was displeased right away. After reading my initial review here, Richard Valenti, Valairco founder, personally calls me. I did not realize that they normally do their follow up a month after completion, in order to give the customer time to use the unit under a number of weather conditions. He sent Kevin back with the installers to make me happy. They fixed the soffit with a new piece of aluminum. They put anew bolt in the attic ladder. They put a strap hanger on the lines. Kevin offered to come back after cooling season to replace the lines if I am still not happy with them. I asked him if he would have done the installation the way his installers did and if he found the installation satisfactory. Kevin did not answer. It was obvious they returned to satisfy me whether my expectations were valid or not. I am pleased that they returned and I can say that customer satisfaction is important to them."

"I'm very happy with the work performed by this company plus the technician explained to me in detail of the work he was going to do as well as the correct way the dryer vent should have been installed before as the the exhaust vent was connected to the lower vent instead of the higher vent, saying that connecting it to the higher vent gave it more room for the lint to collect before it started clogging up the exhaust. The air duct cleaning was also conducted professionally and I have no complaint about their work. I would hire them again the next time my heating and cooling ducts needs cleaning. I'd recommend them to my friends."
