RYKON General Contracting prides itself on Reliability,Punctuality and Affordability. No job is too small or too large. Whether you have an Interior or Exterior repair or project RYKON is your one stop shop.

"Not well. Unreliable. Lots of excuses. Subcontractors he uses were horrible. One took down payment and didn't do any agreed upon work. Another did the work and months later everything broke and I couldn't get anyone to respond to emails, texts, or calls. I had to pay someone else to come in and trouble shoot and repair. The one project he got done took MONTHS longer than it should have for no good reason. Do yourself a favor and use someone else."

After working in the construction business for several years, we're taking the metal industry by storm. Metalwork is a dying art and we made it our goal to revive it by focusing on the client, rather than mass producing standardized products. We decided that our business would be about making metal products easily attainable to consumers and the response has been fantastic.

Wrought Iron questions, answered by experts

This depends on where you are placing the iron railing. If you are installing a railing along a staircase, it would be a good time to conduct any necessary repair or maintenance jobs to the staircase itself. If you are throwing the railing up surrounding a deck or porch, deal with any persistent issues with said deck or porch. If you or a loved one needs a bit of extra help getting in and out of your house, this could also be a good time to install a disability ramp.

Pictures of the area where you want your handrail installed should help get an accurate estimate. You should also let your professional know how accessible the installation location is, and whether or not there is a pre-existing railing to remove. Also, before contacting the pro, take some time to decide what type of wrought iron you are leaning toward.

Finally, have the overall length of your railing at the ready, so you can discuss prefabricated options versus custom-made options.

Whether metal fence posts need concrete depends on the environment and the ground they're placed on. For thick earth and areas without significant weather or high wind, you can get by without concrete, but in areas with weak dirt and strong seasonal weather, it's a good idea to install a concrete base on each individual post. This increases the cost but not as much as replacing or reinstalling the fence would.

The most durable metal for a fence is wrought iron. With proper care, a wrought iron fence can last for centuries. This means regular resealing to stave off rust and corrosion, especially in coastal climates with salty sea air. In these environments, chain link and corrugated fencing tend to stand up better to the elements with fewer maintenance needs.

The maximum recommended slope on which you can build a racked or stepped fence is 45 degrees. After that, construction becomes quite tricky and may require the use of retaining walls or terraces to make the fenced area flatter.
