"We found CLIMATE MECHANICS from their stellar reviews while searching for a knowledgeable and competent HVAC company. For years, we were dealing with a condensation problem with our LG mini split air conditioner, and no one could find the source of the problem. We can honestly say that we've never experienced a company like CLIMATE MECHANICS so committed to making things right. Nate, the awesome climate mechanic that came to our home, and Robert, the owner of the company, could understandably have walked away because they did not install the system and were not responsible for the problem. Nate worked for hours trying to locate the problem. In the end, after so many years of leaking, CLIMATE MECHANICS went above and beyond and resolved our ongoing problem. Toni, their wonderful contact person, told us repeatedly that Robert just wanted us to be happy in the end. And we are. Totally. Thank you Robert, Nate and Toni."

"Lenny and his crew installed a new Lennox furnace for us. The team is courteous and professional. Lenny found that our old humidifier was installed at the wrong place because of the difficult duct work. He went above and beyond his responsibility and installed the new humidifier at the correct position. I greatly appreciate his honesty and utmost professionalism. It is no wonder that his company gets consistently high reviews."

"It was a superb experience. From the visit by Bruce the sales representative to the installation day to the follow-up from Petro, every single person we interacted with was helpful and professional. When Bruce arrived to do the assessment, we spent time going over the heating needs in the house. After a thorough inspection and measurement of the house, we sat down. He showed me a few options, all of which were going to provide good service. I ordered a unit at the end of that meeting. The installation day was just terrific- the entire work crew that showed up were everything I would hope to find: Upbeat, informative, hard-working, focused. The job was finished before end of day as promised. The heater room is now immaculate, with new piping and a new heater. It was like watching a pit crew at a NASCAR race. Everyone had their tasks, they moved carefully but quickly. The materials were all laid out in order, etc. Just a totally professional approach to their work. The crew boss answered any questions I had. The follow-up for a normal inspection of the furnace chimney was scheduled the day after the installation. I’ve gotten calls to insure we are satisfied with the work. Satisfied barely covers it- I am pleased to write this kind of review. Without hesitation I will recommend Petro to friends and family throughout the Philly area. Peter A. Elkins Park"

"Alliance service pros came to our house to find out why nothing was flowing from our house into my septic tank. They found that the pipe from the house to the tank was failing due improper installation when the house was built. Alliance arrived at our house before the time frame they gave me. They were up front with every charge throughout the process of identifying the source of our problem. A second truck had to be called in with extra equipment and supplies. They did not leave until our problem was solve. This company is honest, reasonable, professional and the guys are very kind. We would highly recommend this company."

"Feel free to email me, Drake Baer, [email protected] if you'd like additional perspective. I left a detailed review in Feb 2016, and this is a follow-up. Indoor Air followed through as promised with servicing for a year after installation. Our utility bills improved substantially after installation, even though we replaced a furnace and central AC unit (at a rental property) with their lowest-end Trane products and another central AC unit (at our primary residence) with a mid-range Trane. Indoor Air gave us their best price up front, which was significantly lower than all seven competitors from whom I also got quotes (including Princeton Air, which was outrageously more for the same models). The maintenance agreements they offered me a year later for two central AC units and two furnaces, combined, was less than half the price of our previous service contract provider before we replaced the units. I couldn't be happier!"

"The plumber arrived about 45 minutes late, which for a contracter isnt unexpected.  He ran a flexible pipe from my basement through some flooring and up into where my stove was to go.  He could have done the job quicker and just made some extra holes (that I would have to patch later) but he instead snaked the gas tube/pipe around the ceiling/floor until it popped up exactly at the stove.  No drilling through my cabinets and no unsightly hole in my basement ceiling.  I assume the reason for the higher than expected cost was because I made the special request to not drill unsightly holes, otherwise he could have been done with the job an hour sooner and $150 cheaper.  In the end, the new pipe was installed perfectly with 2 separate in line manual shutoff valves, and the pipes were sealed using a commercial epoxy vs a normal residential one, so it should definitely last.  The whole job took about 3 hours.  With the solid work that they did, I would definitely use them again.
The stove was delivered and installed the next day and has been working flawlessly.  I checked around the pipes and there are no gas leaks that I can smell, so I think everything is working perfectly (I have gas heat, a gas fireplace, and now a gas stove; plenty of oppertunities to smell gas if there was a leak).

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Professionals can recommend efficient layouts or appliances and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Propane is more cost-efficient than natural gas on a per-unit basis because it produces twice as much heat energy as an equivalent amount of natural gas. But propane is not ideal if you already have a gas line installed. The best choice for your home depends on the efficiency of your appliances and the amount of installation required of your fuel choice.

Most home boilers will need an expansion tank. That’s because these boilers are closed-loop systems, where the water is trapped. An expansion tank is needed when the boiler heats the water and it expands, allowing air to condense in the tank to make room for the water. Other types of boilers don’t use an expansion tank, such as traditional steam boilers, but these aren’t as common. And hot water tanks may be able to use a pressure release valve instead. When in doubt, call in a pro to take a look.

Yes. Boilers need water to run without overheating, also known as dry firing. If you run it without a sufficient volume of water, either because of a burst pipe or a leak, you run the risk of damaging your machine or jeopardizing the safety of your home as a whole. When in doubt, shut off your boiler and repair any plumbing issues before turning it back on. Alternatively, consider installing a low-water cutoff (LWCO) before any issues arise. This gadget will protect your boiler by monitoring water levels and automatically shutting it off if it gets too low.

All modern boilers are condensing boilers because they’re the most efficient type. Instead of extra heat leaving through the flue, these boilers trap the heat and use it to heat the house. Whether you choose a combi boiler, system boiler, or regular boiler, you can opt to get a condensing system. If you have an old boiler that’s not a condensing boiler, it’s a good idea to get an upgrade.
