"Did all we needed quickly and in one day. Friendly, enjoyed having him in my house. Very reasonable price, really thought it would be much more. I had others working in my house while he was here and he worked very well around and with them. Great overall electrician."

"Came to my home to look at the installation of a sub panel in a new non attached building on my property. Got back to me the next day as he said he would. His price was fair. I contacted him back and said I would like to proceed with him. Gave me a date, which was a few days later. He contacted me that day and was there right on time. Did what he had to do and was done. Don't like to spend money, but I wish I had more for him to do. Will definitely recommend him without a doubt to anyone who asks me about an electrician. Thanks Again!"

"Hired Joe to put in recessed lighting in my living room. I have plaster walls and ceiling so Joe suggested LED flat lights instead of the traditional lights. They came out fantastic. Very bright and a clean look. All on dimmers. Did the work in one day and repaired the ceiling plaster."

"Jesse did a great clean job in completing the wiring for ceiling fans with both attic and no attic access. He wired a garbage disposal and relocated the fireplace switch and relocated my cable connection with a receptacle next to it. He then installed the 5 ceiling fans and switches. Great clean job ad worked well with other subs on site at the time. I would highly recommend them for any electrical work you have to complete. Called within 20 minutes of requesting them through Home Advisor."

"Before hiring B-Tec, I contacted a few other electric company’s and either they didn’t phone back or they acted as if they were doing me a favor by coming to my home to install the outside light fixtures I bought. Brian from B-Tec came today. He did fit me in into his already full schedule but he was professional and made me feel like my small job was a priority!! My new outside fixtures look great!!! Needless to say, I hired him again to come out and install ceiling fans in 4 rooms of my home. I look forward to continuing all of my homes electrical needs with this company in the future!"

"We have worked with Schultz Brothers for many years now on our house.  When we need electrical work, we don't even consider anyone else.   They do quality work..period.  The highest level of professionalism, integrity and quality work.  His pricing is fair, he is always on time, cleans up the job site and you can trust his people.  To give you an example of why we go back time and time again; they informed us that our attic fan had stopped working - and I didn't even know it. Since they were already in the attic, and it was a hot day, they told us it wasn't working.  It wasn't at all related to the ceiling fans that they working on.

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

To convert a ceiling fan to wireless, you’ll need to install a canopy module to access the lighting and fan controls. Many options are available, all of which help you control specific elements of your ceiling fan, so you have plenty of choices depending on your needs.

If the fan doesn’t have a switch, connect the white wire from the ceiling to the white wire from the fan; connect the green wire to the ground wire; connect both black wires; and connect both blue wires. If yours has a switch, the white and green wires are connected the same way. However, connect the ceiling’s red wire to the light’s black wire and the ceiling’s black wire to the fan’s black wire.

The number of blades for your fan poses both advantages and disadvantages. Typically, the more blades on a fan, the better the air distribution and cooling effect, but this also means that your fan will have more wear on its motor. For small rooms, three-blade fans should work fine. For larger areas like living rooms, four or five-blade fans might be the better option.

There are many types of ceiling fans available, each designed for different spaces and needs. Standard ceiling fans are the most common type and work well in most rooms. Low-profile ceiling fans are better suited for rooms with low ceilings. Smart ceiling fans can be controlled with a smartphone or voice commands. For larger spaces with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, large ceiling fans are ideal. Dual-motor fans have two motors to produce more airflow in multiple directions. You can also find energy-efficient or Energy-Star models that can be up to 60% more efficient, as well as fans with built-in lights or retractable blades.

Hiring an electrician to install a new ceiling fan may be the best course of action. Installing a ceiling fan requires basic electrical and mechanical knowledge. It also requires holding it up with one hand and in an awkward position, making the installation even more difficult. If you’re uncomfortable with these circumstances, your best bet is to hire a professional.
