Property maintenance / property checks for the out of town property owner. That being said we do all kinds of work. This past year we refinished floors, hung storm doors / windows, installed gable vents, installed shower pans, hung and repaired drywall, installed garage door openers, hung doors, build decks, installed air conditioners, moved / repaired sheds, installed above ground pools and the list goes on. Call me, odds are I can do it or refer you to some one who does.

A good way to determine that a table is not worth refinishing is if it's painted. Often they are painted to cover up flaws with the wood you won't be able to fix. You want a good, solid wood table that just needs a facelift rather than a rickety wood table with a lot of problems.

It can take as little as 30 to 60 minutes for wood filler to dry, but some products take up to four hours. Always read labels to ensure you're following the manufacturer’s instructions. Water-based wood fillers typically take longer to dry than oil-based or epoxy-wood fillers, especially when applied to large areas or deep cracks. Wood putty won’t dry completely, remaining slightly pliable.

Removing the original paint or stain before refinishing is a good idea, as it ensures the new finish bonds strongly to the wood. If you skip the stripping or sanding step, the new finish may peel or flake away from the railing easily. Using a wood stripper will completely remove the old stain or paint while sanding will help to prime the surface.
