"Yes, I admit there was a delay in returning the call. However, I do not work 7 days a week as the weekends are devoted to my family. [member name removed] left me a voice message on Monday stating with a tone "you do have a good rating on Angie's list" which I took as a threat if I did not call back. I spoke to [member name removed] on Tuesday 3/24 and we set the appointment for Friday 3/27. During my visit [member name removed] had made a comment stating "whatever drugs you are taking, you are either not taking enough or too many". Yes, we were joking at the time during a discussion about the damaged dresser top that I was there to see. However, I wasn't sure where this remark was coming from and felt very insulted. I quoted the price and [member name remove] agreed on it. At which point I needed to grab my appointment book so that I could see when I would be able to pick it up. [member name removed] then made another remark " I have a calendar right here because yours does seem to be working for you ". Again, I felt insulted. Yes, I accepted the job at the time and scheduled to pick up the item on 3/29. However, I left [member name removed] home feeling uneasy. I felt as though the relationship with this customer did not start out good and I felt it may not end well. I made the decision to back out of the job. I sent a text message later on Friday after my visit and stated that I would not be taking the job. [member name removed] called me on Sat. 3/28 to confirm our appointment for Sun. and I told her that I had sent the text on Friday. She stated that she never received the text. I did tell her at that time about the remarks that were made and that I was sorry that things turned out the way they did. I have been in this business for 35 years and I have had many satisfied customers. I do not advertise as my business is strictly based on referrals. I am a one man business and take great pride in my work. I am sorry that this transaction did not work out for either myself or [member name removed]"
