"After calling StructuralMD and confirming that this service was what we needed, an appointment was quickly set up and George (Chief Engineer) showed up on time. He closely inspected the area in question and provided a great deal of detail regarding his findings. George answered every question we had and spent whatever time required to provide additional guidance, suggestions and tips. His inspection confirmed that there were no structural issues, and helped us prepare to hire a contractor to complete the (non-structural) work that we originally sought. He also urged us to contact him again to ask any other questions that might have. A professional outfit with excellent customer service!"

"Joe and team at Three D Concepts did a phenomenal job. Very professional and very knowledgeable in his field. Joe provided insight and ideas that I didn't even think of when starting the project. He was also very familiar with my township and the surrounding areas, which is important whenever doing a home extension. Knowing how to navigate the various zoning laws is so important with something like this. I searched around quite a bit for a qualified architect who is trust worthy. Many wanted to charge a percentage of the construction job. In my opinion, the cost of tile that I choose, shouldn't dictate my architectural costs. Joe provided a flat fee quote upfront. This was a breathe of fresh air and took a lot of uncertainty out of the process. Finally, the quality of work was top notch. We absolutely love the plans that he put together for us. Our dream home will now finally become a reality thanks to Joe and Three D Concepts."

"Bruttaniti Architects changed the way I live in my house. My kitchen renovation is among the most spectacular I have ever seen. Anthony walked me through removing a structural wall and offered great advice throughout the project. He gave me so many great ideas about things I didn’t even know I wanted. We trusted his creative talents and the end result is better than anything I imagined. He made working with my contractor very easy and worked seamlessly with the contractor to make my entire renovation experience rewarding. My main floor is now open concept and my kitchen is the true heart of my home."

Structural Engineering questions, answered by experts

Burlington homeowners should account for local permit requirements, potential historic district guidelines, and HOA restrictions before starting any project. Properties near the Delaware River may need enhanced flood protection, while varying soil types require customized foundation designs. Plan construction between April and November for optimal weather, and allow extra time for permit approvals. Addressing these factors helps avoid project delays and ensures compliance with local standards.

Helpful?

Combining structural engineering with upgrades like foundation repair, basement waterproofing, or electrical system updates in Burlington can streamline your project. Coordinating work minimizes disruptions and may reduce permit wait times. For best results, schedule projects between late spring and early fall to avoid weather delays. Grouping tasks also allows for more efficient material deliveries and ensures all improvements are compatible with your home’s structure.

Helpful?

Burlington’s humid summers, cold winters, and frequent freeze-thaw cycles can accelerate foundation cracks and stress building materials. High water tables and clay soils often require deep foundation repair and advanced drainage solutions. Homes near the Delaware River face strong winds and heavy snow loads, so reinforcing roof structures and using vapor barriers are essential. Prioritizing moisture control and regular structural assessments helps prevent long-term weather-related damage.

Helpful?

Completing structural engineering projects in Burlington offers immediate benefits like improved safety, better energy efficiency, and enhanced basement usability. Over time, you’ll see increased property value, reduced risk of water intrusion, and greater resilience to storms or flooding. Homes with updated structures are more attractive to buyers and easier to renovate in the future. Proactive upgrades also help prevent costly repairs and provide lasting peace of mind.

Helpful?

Be cautious of quotes that lack detailed site assessments, ignore Burlington’s flood risks, or skip soil testing. Unusually low bids, vague timelines, or reluctance to provide local references are warning signs. Ensure the proposal addresses local flood zones, includes a written contract, and outlines clear steps for foundation repair or structural upgrades. A reputable expert will tailor solutions to your property’s unique needs and conditions.
