"I was in constant contact with them,by phone, before  the installation. I was nervous about what I had chosen and was invited to take my time and go to the showroom to see it on a larger scale. Measuring day and day of installation the crew were prompt, very clean, very professional. Everything was covered during installation and they happily answered any questions I had.  There was a very small problem with one of the countertops fitting correctly. It was immediately taken care of and a new countertop piece was made and installed within a few days.  My kitchen is absolutely beautiful!  They were so easy to work with and very accommodating.  I highly recommend Granite Transformations in Berlin NJ."

"On Friday, April 25th 2014 I was having a vinyl floor installed at my house in my kitchen.  I have a bi-level single family home so my kitchen is right above my family room.  The flooring installers, American Carpet South, were nailing down underlayment and put a nail through one of my water pipes.  I walked downstairs and heard dripping so I ran and shut off the water and the ceiling was soaking wet.  I immediately came to Angie's List to look for plumbers to call and saw the good reviews that EFD had so I called them and the owner, Ed, answered after a couple of rings, I frantically told him that I was looking for someone to come out that day and see what happened.  He said that he could be here within an hour or two and he held true to his word.  He came in, took a look at the ceiling and then started to remove small pieces until he could clearly see that a nail from the flooring installers went through the water pipe.  He waited at our house until his crew arrived and they fixed it within 20 minutes.  Everyone was very professional and the work was high quality.  I would certainly call them again the next time I have a plumbing issue and recommend them to anyone else.

"We had a leak from a second floor bathroom from the water feed to our toilet. The bathroom floor was flooded and the water drained down into the kitchen ceiling. It was quite a mess. I called my insurance company and they sent someone out to evaluate the damages. The person from the insurance company felt that we could just remove one row of tile from the bathroom floor, which did not sound right to me. I went to Angie's List and checked out different contractors. From the positive comments I found Darin from Millenium and he returned my call promptly. It only took a couple of days for him to come over. He was great. He spent some time with us and went over all the damage. He told us what needed to be done, how he would do it, the time frame and everything. He was incredible. He agreed that the entire tile floor needed to be removed and went over the insurance estimate and told us what else would have to be done that the insurance company did not tell us. For example the insurance company wanted to replace one row of tile rather than the whole tile floor, the insurance company would pay for a new vanity but wanted us to use the top of the damaged vanity. Darin sent us an estimate and spoke with the insurance agent and their estimator. They agreed to let my insurance company hire a third party to review everything. The reviewer came out and Darin met him at my house. The insurance reviewer basically agreed with everything Darin said and they approved a whole new vanity and a whole new tile floor Darin then went with us to pick out the tile and the vanity and helped us set up what we needed to do. Everything was done exactly to schedule. He really worked with our schedule and there were NO surprises. When work began he sent out someone to do the work. His name was Vinny. He was excellent. He did an unbelievable great job. he let us know what he was doing. I mean he even warned us when he was going to turn the water off. He left a clean site every day. we were watching our grandchild for the week and he was great in trying to decrease the noise while she slept. All I can tell you is that he was incredible and did great work. When the job was done Darin came back and inspected everything with us. The price was clear, there were no extra surprises. I would very strongly recommend Millenium and Darin. I think Vinny does great work. Very happy I found them on Angie's List."

"I was amazed. We had 10 new windows replaced, and after working a 10 hour day, I was dreading going home & cleaning for the next 10 hours. But when I walked inside my home you didn't even know they were there. everything was placed back to where it belonged, there was no mess to vacuum. There also was no mess outside, my garden was not even touched. The only thing I had to do was wash the windows and hang the curtains. They were very nice & polite, professional men who installed the windows. The windows themselves are 100% perfect. We could not be happier and could kick ourselves for not doing it sooner. They gave us a date in July for Installation. They arrived in May."

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Their thickness depends on application, but most glass walls are typically 3/8 to 3/4 of an inch thick. Although it’s not as common, single panes of glass can also be 1 inch thick.

Heavy glass tends to be more expensive than thin glass because it is stronger and more durable. In most cases, ¼-inch-thick glass is ideal for mirrors, and ⅛-inch-thick glass is ideal for residential windows. Heavier glass isn’t always necessary, and can be more challenging to hang or install. Work with a local window installation pro for replacement or new construction windows.

Yes, professionals can install decorative or colored glass block patterns for a unique look.

Glass block windows come in various patterns and styles that offer privacy and unique aesthetics. Frosted or textured glass diffuses light and enhances privacy. Wave-pattern glass blocks imitate ocean waves with flowing lines. Ice-glass blocks resemble cracked ice. Fluted glass blocks feature parallel vertical grooves, adding texture and depth. Clear glass blocks, similar to glass Coke bottles, offer transparency with some distortion and may have smooth surfaces or subtle textures, adding visual interest.

Although glass block windows are made of multiple layers of thick glass, they can still break. If an individual block shatters, it can be removed and replaced, but this is a job for a window repair professional. The project is often complex and may require breaking the block further for removal. Do not attempt to handle it yourself, as the broken glass can be dangerously sharp. A professional will have the necessary tools and expertise to replace the broken glass block quickly and safely. Before hiring, confirm that the repair pro has experience with this specific type of window.
