"I could not be happier with Greg Burz Stucco & Stone LLC. Greg brings a lot of passion, positivity and an eye for detail on the projects he works on. Further, I completely appreciated Greg’s solution-driven approach, without compromising quality with regards to the stucco project on my home. "Skyline Construction Group replaced three broken ridge tiles that had fallen from our bungalow roof due to high winds. They liaised with me by email as I was away on holiday, quoted for the work, attended promptly and cleared up perfectly. I could not be happier"

"Excellent job! I hired Jersey Pro based upon their having the best price, among other companies' estimates, to resurface the outside brick wall of my home with stucco. Angelo and an assistant completed the job in a day, working efficiently and professionally. He offered to come back if anything was not to my satisfaction. When I pointed out some areas needed additional work, he returned without hesitation and repaired them. I found this level of service to be excellent, and Angelo's easy-going, calm manner to be pleasant. Overall, I received excellent work at a reasonable cost!"

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Neutral colors like white, tan, beige, and light brown are the most popular stucco colors. Natural stucco has a grayish color due to the high concentration of Portland cement in the material, but most homeowners have their contractors add pigments to create a more inviting appearance. Stucco is most popular in hotter climates, where it provides ample insulation to regulate interior temperatures and keep the solar heat out. Since lighter colors reflect more sunlight, lighter stucco is more prevalent.

Properly installed and maintained stucco can last 50 to 100 years, making it one of the longest-lasting siding materials available. This durable material is known for its durability, and as long as you clean and waterproof it regularly and promptly repair any damage, it’ll protect your home for decades to come.

One of the most significant downsides to stucco is the installation cost, which is higher than that of many other siding options because getting it to look clean and professional is a labor-intensive process. Stucco can also absorb water, making it an unsuitable option for siding in areas that see excessive rainfall. Finally, stucco can crack and chip, especially in extreme weather, and repairs are not only challenging and require help from a professional who does stucco, but can get expensive.

It’s not advisable to use CLR on stucco. CLR is a powerful acidic cleaner designed for removing tough mineral stains. Stucco is a porous material commonly made of cement, lime, and sand. The acidic nature of CLR can potentially damage or etch the stucco surface, leading to discoloration or deterioration.

It is best to use cleaning solutions specifically formulated for stucco or mild household cleaners mixed with water to clean stucco siding. Always test any cleaning product in a small, inconspicuous area before applying it to the entire stucco surface.

When hiring for your project, look for licensed, insured contractors with experience in stucco removal. Ask them for references, review their past stucco removal projects, and request detailed, written estimates. A reputable stucco removal contractor will explain the entire process, outline all costs, and ensure proper disposal and compliance with local codes.
